Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Long, slightly confused but enjoyable.
Treasure is the second Cussler novel I have read. At exactly 600 pages it's not a short read and it is split into two stories.

The first story is Dirk Pitt's search for the great library and museum of Alexandria. Pitt knows that it exists and what the secret coastline looked like in 391AD but can he find the location in the world today?

The second story is about the rise of fundamentalist groups in Mexico and Egypt. These groups resort to terrorist activities and on three occasions Pitt encounters them and tries to foil their plans.

I found Treasure a bit hard going at times. It's enjoyable enough but the middle 300-400 pages are pretty much dedicated to beating terrorists and the search for the great ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Treasure by Clive Cussler
This book is faithful to the title it is beyond doubt a Treasure, from the very start it had me on the edge of my seat, and is one of the best of Clive Cusslers books, as a dedicated fan of Dirk Pitt, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, i only wish that the story was actually true, from the point of the vast knowledge that was lost when the library at Alexandria was destroyed, it would have been wonderful beyond words for some of it to have been saved, although as it says in the book the Texans would have been unbearable to live with if it had been found in their state.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Sheer brilliance - another Dirk Pitt classic
Another fabulous read by Clive Cussler...albeit a somewhat predictable journey through the intravenous catacombs of sizzling adventure. Infamous debonair Dirk Pitt plays a marvellous alternative to Bond, always escaping the claws of death and defying all obstacles with his shadow Al Giordino, bestowing upon the reader a "shaken, not stirred" sense of fulfilment.

A journey through the ages, this book not only reveals a sense of fantasy by the author, but also an offer of explicit education of the challenging times that the world faces today, from terrorist plots to discoveries of relevance of antiquity itself. In all a thoroughly absorbing read, with even the miliary depictions startlingly accurate because they add to the sense of clarity ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This book opened up a whole new world for me.
I read this book a couple of years ago and in that time I have gone on to read at least eight Cussler books. It seems as if he has a knowledge of whatever he writes about and I like the way he delves into the mysteries of the past as well as focusing on the present. With his experience of military affairs he can easily describe combat situations and how the Armed Forces of America work. But I like the fact that his books can be read easily in a short space of time, which is something I cannot always do. It's a shame that the books seem too lengthy to make into a film or TV series.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is one of those novels that you can't put down.
Of all the Dirk Pitt adventures this has to be classed as the best. From the opening passage until the finale, I became immersed in the storyline and the fates of the characters that were expertly portrayed by Clive Cussler. This is the first Clive Cussler novel that I ever read, and although the other novels are excellent, none quite captivated me as this one did.
