Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Poor editing weakens interesting subject
Jason Leonard is the World's most capped Rugby Union player, despite playing in one of the games' toughest positions.
His autobigraphy should be a fascinating look at a game that has changed dramatically throughout his lengthy and distinguished career. Certainly Jason comes across as a dedicated player and decent family man. However the book is poorly edited.
There is repetition (e.g. his partner is thanked twice in the acknowledgements; the first chapter mentions his '4 World Cups and 3 Lions tours' in consecutive pages) and lack of detail ('Matt Dawson and Austin Healey were wrong to have written what they did' - yes, but Jason doesn't say what they actually wrote; 'Austin Healey got much grief from his advertising campaign...if ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - OUTSTANDING
If you like Jason Leonard you've just got to read his book it's so funny - how he grew from a reckless toddler to the most capped player in the game - full of funny, funny stories. My favourite things is when he selected his all time drinking XV and takes someone who doesn't drink so they can drive the bus home (Rory Underwood). Very, very funny and also moving. I loved this. I've never put reviews on here before but this is well worth the read.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great funny book
I saw this book in a book shop and read most of it while standing at the shelves - it's very funny. Jason's written such a funny, observant book. It's full of stories about what he gets up to off the field as well as insight into life on it. I think there will never be another book like this because jason describes the move from amateurism to professioanlism and you see the way in which he had to change as a player and a man to cope. There is the soft side to jason as he describes the birth of his children and the serious side when you hear about his first cap in argentina. this is really a good book.
