Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Please complete these beautiful chronicles for yourself and don't let the negative reviews put you off
This is a review for Blood Canticle and Blackwood Farm as i think they must be treated as one.

This book along with the Blackwood Farm is fantastic and part of the most amazing series of books I have ever read. I never normally do customer reviews but these books and chronicles have made me feel I had to say something about the bad reviews for these two final books of Anne Rice's Vampire chronicles as these reviews nearly put me off completing the chronicles which I am ashamed I ever considered doing.

I can not understand how people who have read all the other books can not take these books with the same love and appreciation that they surely felt for the previous books. Now I do agree with some of the comments made ... Read More:

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Time for another 'pre-ternatural' snooze?

Anne Rice has succeeded in killing that which cannot be killed by yet again dragging our old friend Lestat up by the scruff of his neck and hawking yet another drippy tale to anyone who will listen.

I used to admire Anne Rice, and still do for 'Interview' and, if to a lesser extent for 'Lestat', both of which were ground breaking and poetic, but since then the Chronicles have gone down hill dramatically...if in an amateur-dramatic way, and best suited to those meer mortals who can at most afford to dress in long leather coats so as to walk about the mall on a saturday afternoon.

Anne has become a quick-buck author and has succeded in moving away from any form of poeticism she once had by way of continuing to ... Read More:

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I f you are an Anne Rice fan then just go and re-read The Vampire Lestat and leave this drivel on the shelf!
Looking at Anne Rice's official website it is easy to see that she has really lost the plot and this book demonstrates clearly that.
I was disgusted with the poor writing on the very first page;
"You think I don't want new readers? My name is thirst, baby. I must have you!" CRINGE!!
and I stayed disgusted throughout the novel.

If Rice has had a political/religious conversion and now wants to be a mouthpiece for a particular political candidate, party or policy then she should do that that and STOP writing mindless drivel about the characters that made her rich and famous in the first place.

Credit your loyal readers with some intelligence; don't trample all over the legacy of your first novels and ... Read More:

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - NOT THE BEST OF CHRONICLES,BUT STILL WORTH A READ
the chronicle that introduced me to the world of anne rice was blackwood farm, and even though it's the 9th book in the series,it was the first chronicle i've ever read.and i loved it.when i read the reviews for it afterwards,i was shocked how badly rated it was.however, after i read all the other chronicles i could see why most people didn't like it.it cannot be compared with the likes of queen of the damned, vampire lestat and blood&gold.but it is a brilliant introduction to the vampire chronicles,so if you're new to the world of anne rice i'd recommend you read this first.now, blood canticle being a sequel to the blackwood farm is nowhere near as good.it picks up exactly where blackwood farm ended and truly it lacks a real plot.what you get instead, are ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - argh!
I love love the vampire chronicals i wanna get that clear before i start,
but i have to say this is by far the worst thing I've read in a LONG time.
i read the bad reviews and thought i would give it a shot anyway (who cares what other people think eh?)
from start to finish nothing really happens, it follows a very linear plot with characters who have changed so dramatically since the last installments that it feels like we are reading somthing from a new author.
the love affair between Rowan and Lestat is SO forced that i was wincing in pain all the way through reading it.
Also as far as an ending is concerned as this is that "last" chronicle i was expecting somthing final, definative not an abrupt unconclusive ending that ... Read More:
