I don't usually like guidebooks. They can be dry, stuffy and written by people who seem to glide through a country without experiencing it. This is completely different. We had browsed in a shop but got a better price here, so bought online.
Shona Main and Nick Bruno have an obvious passion for the area and are more like good friends passing on recommendations, rather than distant writers. That's not to say the writing isn't good. Quite the contrary, this is also the most entertaining guide book I've come across.
It was good to use on the road, and even though we don't have kids, we decided that this book fulfilled everything we needed from the trip. Good value was important, as was getting off the beaten track and this book provides ... Read More:
