From the Author:
There's only one reason to buy this book, but it's a mighty big one: quite simply it's the best, perhaps the only, travel guidebook to Tuscany and Umbria written from the ground up specifically for families.

Okay, so I'm a touch biased, but where else will you find a place in Pisa to feed a toddler who can't wait until 7.30 for the restaurants to open? Or where to change a nappy close to Assisi's Basilica? Or how to entertain a bored teen in the Lunigiana? Or a soft-play near Florence's Duomo? I could go on... That's not to say we've missed out all the art, architecture, epic scenery, food, wine and so much more that these two Italian regions have to offer. It's all there, from Assisi to the Apennines, the urban sights of Florence and Siena to the endless emerald-greens of the Val d'Orcia. It's just that now you're all travelling together, you need a bit more than just these basics.

We've also included plenty of advice on getting there and around, custom-made itineraries, and tips on seeing the classic sights at their best, with the kids; as well as ideas for sustainable stay-overs and our Fourteen for Free: yes, there really are 14 fantastic trips you can all make without spending a penny. Or a cent, even.

We're also providing semi-regular updates to complement (not replace) the book, to ensure the advice we're passing on is as fresh as possible.Feel free to leave questions for us there and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Whichever guidebook you choose from Amazon, we wish you happy travels. In fact, we wish we were coming. It's magical.
