- Clear, easy to use guide to the Alpujarras
THis is a deceptively useful little guide which made all the difference to our hoilday. Well worth the low price. Cclear maps and good, easy descriptions.

- Interesting, but ...
This is not really a book. Rather, it is pamplet describing a number of shortish (half a day or so) walks in the Poqueira valley, and the lower part of the Trevelez valley (Pitres and the silk villages).

On the negative side, the walks described are not the "official" Poqueira valley walks, which are easier to follow because they are waymarked, and tend to be longer and go higher into the Sierra Nevada. The format - two large sheets, one including a map, and both printed on two sides - is a bit tricky to use, as you tend to need both the description and the map to follow a walk successfully. - A must for your rucksack
When I first received this "book" I was initially dissapointed. Not something to use to swot up your holiday prior to departure. But it really comes into it's own in the field. Finding the footpaths out of villages (harder than you think in the Alpujarras) and having the confidence to follow the directions even up the most unpromising looking track made this guide a must.
I quickly abandoned my expensive guidebook with it's poor maps and misleading information in favour of this pocket sized little gem.

We would never have found the walking trails without this excellent, light to carry guide. I heartily recommend it to any visitor to the area.

- Two handy "pamphlets" for the occasional walker.
Firstly, this is not a book but two pamphlets which give four pages of information and guides to fifteen short walks some of which can be combined to give a somewhat longer walk. The map is typical of those available in most walking books on Spain and is of minimal help without the written description of the walk. I think that serious walkers would be very dissapointed with this publication.
