- Easy to read and follow
The wonderful thing about The Master Key is it's concise dialogue. I have read many books in this genre and most seem rather drawn-out. Haanel's approach is to the point. 24 chapters, each of less than a dozen or so pages. Each chapter commences with a summary of what we can expect from it, with the next few pages explaining the exercise in easy to apply detail. A summary of what we have learnt ends each chapter and we are advised to read that chapter several times before moving onto the next. There isn't a superflous word in it. Hits the mark 100%. If this book was the only book in a schoolchild's desk they could go straight to the top in life!

In the introductory biography which precedes Haanel's work, the publishers highlight at least one reason why you might want to read this book:

"It is Silicon Valley's secret that almost every entrepreneur who made a fortune in recent years did so by studying the words Mr Haanel penned over eighty years ago....Since this book was no longer in print until recently, copies of The Master Key System became a hot commodity in the Valley".

Now I've no way of knowing if this statement is true, but such is the power of Haanel's system that it seems eminently plausible. - Beware James McGovern as you would any opinionated source...
There are those who seek and enjoy seeking - and there are those who are so locked into this manifested world they couldn't seek their elbow...

There is nothing wrong with this book that common sense will not allow you to edit whilst reading. All you need to recognise is that you are seeking - read, devour and move on - until something resonates with your soul and turns you on to something you wouldn't have found if you hadn't been a seeker. When you read 'your' truth it will fill you with a feeling of love - just like recognising an old friend. - Pseudoscientific wishful thinking!
If you're looking for a book to help you achieve anything in life, don't get this. Despite a couple of good points (such as not to be selfish in life - do you really need a book to tell you this??), the basic idea of this work, set forth in twenty-four "lessons", is to simply think good thoughts and imagine all the things you want most in life. Apparently, the author assures us, these thoughts will "objectify" and bring us those dreams in the real world via the "Law of Attraction", which the author alleges has been scientifically proved. He also claims, rather arrogantly, that even bodily diseases and ailments can be healed by "correct" thinking. Needless to say, this is all utter nonsense. This book was so far ahead of it's time.

Is the process of manifestation is your quest?

If so, yes, the wording can sound old-fashioned but I believe that each book written by a knowledgeable author can still hold the imprint of that original wisdom. I found the book to be still alive. A valuable resource.
