I love this DVD and it is definitely my most watched drama. I hold it on a pedestal along with the BBC "Pride and Prejudice" drama. My teenage daughters were even won over by the series despite listening to me drone on about it for a few years before they watched it! And that was no mean feat!

I have posted a short review of the novel on this site, but actually it was the DVD that I watched first and this inspired me to read the book. I actually prefer the slight alteration to the story as featured on the DVD (with author approval). I cannot recommend the DVD or book enough.


Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Adaptation
This adaptation of Deirdre Purcell's Falling fro a Dancer is a top class one. Although it wavers from the storyline of the book it is still a good film. If you have read the book, be prepared for some drastic changes, although these do not make the film any less interesting. Parts are played by some brilliant actors who really bring the book to life. These charecters are portrayed excatly as the way I imagined them.
