Editorial Review:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
Fully aware of its status as the sequel to the surprise hit thriller of 1996, this lively follow-up trades freshness for familiarity, playing on our affection for returning characters while obeying--and then subverting--the "rules" of sequels. Once again, movie references are cleverly employed to draw us into the story, which takes place two years after the events of Scream, at a small Ohio college, where the Scream survivors reunite when another series of mysterious killings begins. Capitalising on the guesswork involving a host of potential suspects, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson have crafted a thriller that's more of a Scream clone than a genuinely inventive new story. But the shocks are just as effective, and escalating tension leads to a tautly staged climax that's simultaneously logical and giddily over the top. Background information for trivia buffs: to preserve the secrecy of plot twists, copies of the screenplay were heavily guarded during production and restricted to only the most crucial personnel. When an early draft was circulated on the Internet, screenwriter Kevin Williamson did rewrites, and subsequent drafts were printed with red ink on brown paper, eliminating the threat of photocopying. None of the cast members knew who the killer was until the final scenes were filmed. -- Jeff Shannon

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL
While attending the premiere of the new horror film 'Stab,' a young couple, (Omar Epps and Jada Painkett) are viciously murdered. The film is based on the events of the first 'Scream.' During a year off at college, Sidney (Neve Campbell) is tormenting her roommate, Hallie (Elise Neal) so she seeks out friend Randy (Jaime Kennedy) to shed some light on what happened in the theater. Due to the event, Gale (Courtney Cox) and Dewey (David Arquette) arrive at the school to probe the relationship between what happened. The man who she accused of murdering her mother, Cotton Weary (Live Schrieber) also visits Sidney's college to get the truth from her about him. With Sidney at a party on campus, one of her friends, Cici (Sarah Michelle Geller) is killed. ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is a very good film
The first was class, the second probably as good, if not better than the first. This film really does set the screws. The starting is excellent, the cast are all there and the end (once again) is unexpected.

The basic story is that Sidney (the main heroine) studies at some college and is shocked to learn that 2 of her fellow pupils get murdered in a cinema (a cinema, How discrete!!) then she knows and you know that the killings are starting alllll over again. You have to sit back and enjoy the ride becuase in this one there are mre thrills and kills.

Overall this is a very good sequel. In most cases sequels aren't made as they should be compared to the original, but this is an exception. If your a Scream fan this is a must ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Screaming is GOOD!
It was delivered, quickly and was the condition that it said. The movie is billiant and if you are a Sarah Michelle Gallar fan she is in it, but not for very long, if you know what i mean. There are no words to tell you how good this film is.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - i love this excellent movie!
Making a sequel to scream was going to be hard as the first one was so good but this film proverse that some sequel can sirpass the origanly.

i love how this film starts right in the action and the blood is alreadly pouring by the bucket load before you even had chance to finsh your popcorn.you dont have to see thr first film to love this one as the story is easy to follow and the horror is pretty self-explanety.the way the characters die are imagintive and scary.thereare also funny jokes that refer to the cast members themselfs

if your looking for an excellent, scary movie then look no fever then scream 2. i love this film and have scence it so many times i have lost count.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Quite good. 25th january 2004.
Good film, not as good as the first. I thought their could of been more action in it,and not has much talking. It was a little bit disapointing in parts, and not has good as i expected. The first and the last always tend to be the best, HIRE IT.
