Amazon.co.uk Review:
When Luigi's Mansion was first announced many assumed it would be a title to follow in the legendary footsteps of Super Mario World and Super Mario 64. It's nowhere near as epic as either of these titles, though, and also unlike them will never be accused of being the "best game ever". Once you get over the shock of the game being on such a small scale, though, its various charms do become obvious. The game involves you, as Mario's brother Luigi, trying to exorcise a haunted mansion of ghosts by sucking them into a vacuum cleaner. If only Bill Murray and the Catholic Church had realised it was so easy. Except it's not really that easy at all: the complications and cleverness of the game come in with the use of light and shadow. Many ghosts cannot be seen unless you reveal their shadow or manipulate the objects in a room to make them appear. These imaginative--but never frustrating--puzzles add to the otherwise simplistic process of catching the smaller ghosts by freezing them with a beam of light and sucking them up the Hoover. It's only a minor classic but Luigi's Mansion does a good job of showing off some off the Gamecube's graphical effects and providing a game which all the family can enjoy. If only it was a bit longer... but then, knowing Nintendo, if it was longer it wouldn't have come out until the space year 3050.--David Jenkins

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great game!
This is one of the only games i have ever played through to the very end. It's true that for hard core gamers it probably wont take you too long to finish the game but its worth it for the journey!. There are lots of nice touches in this game e.g. the way Luigi whistles the theme tune! and the graphics are great(even when played on a Wii). The gameplay is simple enough once you get the hang of it and becomes a little harder against the 'portrait' ghosts where you have to think a bit more about when to attack. Make sure your controller will stand up to all the yellow C stick action as you suck those ghosts in!.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Great Little Game - one worthy of your collection if you are old or young!
I am reviewing this game a long time after it's release date, so this i almost a retrospective look at the game.
You play Luigi and at the start of the game he has just inherited the mansion - and it isn't too long before we realise that the place is infested with ghosts and ghouls. Whilst doing the initial search through the mansion Luigi meets a mad profesor (are there any other types?), who gives him the equipment to dispatch the ghosts. Basically - it is a vacuum cleaner attached to Luigi's back! But we also discover that Mario came here before and is imprisoned somewhere in one of the rooms in the mansion...........and only Luigi can save him.
What follows is a very good, solid game. You play as Luigi and it is your job to clean ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the games you must have for a gamecube
Luigis mansion is definaltely a must have for the Gamecube.
You Play Marios Brother Luigi who has won a Large Mansion, he rings Mario and they agree to meet their, yet when Luigi arrives Mario is nowhere to be found! He is then attacked by a ghost but is rescued by a small and weird scientist who gives him the Poltergeist 3000 used to suck up ghosts, and then Luigi sets of to find his Brother!

Graphics: 4/5 The graphics in Mario games are usually bright but obviously as this is in a haunted mansion they are more Dark and Gloomy, yet not in a bad way! And each room has a different touch to it.

Music/sound efects: 3/5 The music is good but not great you will hear the same background music many times, the sound effects ... Read More:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Luigi!! The Lean Mean Green Machine To The Rescue!!!!
This was my first Gamecube game since I bought it alongside with the console itself back in May 2002!

Despite the games minor setbacks with the size and the strategy of the game! I felt that Luigi's Mansion was actually an enjoyable game and it got me on the go for a few hours or so! It is most probably one of a few games I own, in which I keep on erasing the data and keep restarting the game's progress! However, I have actually completed this game on Halloween night (31st October). The perfect night for a perfect game!

Here is how the story goes. In a competition he didn't even enter, Luigi wins a mansion, which is rumoured that it's haunted! Further more to this, Luigi and Mario decide to go and investigate. Mario obviously ... Read More:

What lugi's won a mansion! there some kind of catch...well luigi has been set up by king boo the mansion is haunted and mario has been captured and banished in to a painting, it seems king boo is quite happy with his new peice of art work and he plans on adding a luigi painting to his collection also.

So luigi turns up to his new mansion and bumps in to a ghost catcher who informs him on the going on's and supplys you with your wepon for catching the ghosts responsible for trapping mario in a painting, the poltergeist 3000(a hover to a normal person). After quick training on how to catch a ghost luigi is on his way to explore the mansion and clear it of ghosts.
