Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A good vacuum cleaner and excellent value for money
I've had the vacuum cleaner just over two months. So far so good - no problems at all. It is certainly a bit on the noisy side, but I've soon got used to it. It has very powerful suction and the whole thing seems well-built and good quality. In my opinion it compares favourably with Dyson. I had an early Dyson and the build-quality was dreadful. The base-plate cracked within a year (as did my daughter's) and I was forever taking it to pieces to unblock it. The Vax looks a simpler, and sturdier proposition. At this price you really can't go wrong.

I purchased this Vax from Amazon in August. It works reasonably well considering it was cheap to buy, though it is far from being one of the best vacuums I have used.

Recently the belt broke and I duly telephoned Vax customer services who gave me a number for the company that deals with spares. No spare belts will be available until the end of January 2006! A delay of three months. What, I wonder, is the point of having a 12 month warranty on a product when it is forced to remain in an unusable state for 3 months because no spare belts are available.

After reading the reviews this seemed like a cheap but good alternative to a Dyson, and once it arrived,i wasn't disappointed,the suction was good though a bit loud! but within 2 months the belt had snapped, following calls to customer services i was assured this is NOT common so i ordered another (not free of charge),but this snapped only TWO WEEKS after it had been fitted, again spoken to customer services ordered another belt,this time FREE OF CHARGE!!So all in all not so sure about this model,depends on how long this belt lasts...anyone else had similar problems?

After wanting a vaccum cleaner and not being able to afford a Dyson I looked at other bagless vaccums. This one came up in a search and the reviews looked good.
The first thing that I would say is that it is not a Dyson. It is a good 1500watt vaccum without a bag which is good value for money. It is loud but I find that you get used to it once you are hoovering. The attachment for cleaning stairs/upholstery is a whole seperate pipe which you have to change over to. This is a little annoying, but not difficult. My other advice is to leave the attachment off if you are cleaning and attach it when needed rather than trying to keep clipping it back on. I found that if I did this it would invariable come loose.

Needed a vacuum cleaner desperately after mine broke down. Chose this one after the great reviews and have to admit, it is really that good. It's not as good as the dyson, but that is made up for in the cost. Otherwise, it's the most cost effective way to make sure your home is clean and dust-free.

It has extremely powerful suction, so make sure the areas being vacuumed are empty. Main drawback is the awfully loud noise. If you have a house to vacuum, you may need to take short breaks or risk a bad headache!! I also found it a bit awkward when switching from the upright function to the hose, as the upright has to be disabled, and the hose then connected to the jug.
