- Good, just not long enough!
Well, Remixed & Revisited got released after the commercial flop that was American Life in an attempt rescue Madonna somewhat. The remixes are good, although I think a studio recorded version of the MTV performance would have been loads better, because Britney is out sung by Xtina. It seems that Madonna may be heading in a rock direction, what with some good rock remixes here and Your Honesty is a good track too. Something that is debatable here is the Gap ad song, in places it sounds like there's 3 people singing the song, an 80s era Madge, Missy and the Madge of the Noughties. It does sound a little slaughtered compared to the fabulous 'Into The Groove' and it doesn't really sound right on an audio version.

Not one to stay out of the spotlight for too long, Madonna returns with "Remixed and Revisited," an odds-and-ends collection of remixes and throwaway tracks that spells "holiday cash in" on its face. Instead of giving us the usual disco-flavored grooves, Madonna goes rock on us, as featured on remixes of "American Life" and "Love Profusion." It must be said that neither of these cuts are very good to begin with, and the rock makeovers they receive don't make them any more interesting. The EP's main bright spot is the live medley of "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" featuring Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Missy Elliot. For Madonna fans 'Remixed and Revisited' is a very nice treat indeed.

The remixes here are all amazing! 'Love Profusion' and 'American Life' are given heavy rock makeovers and give a surprisingly good effect on 'American Life' and is actually better than the original version.
The remix of 'Nobody Knows Me' brings back the best of 80's electro pop and cements itself into place with one of 'American Life's standout tracks.

As for the other tracks, they're pretty dull and bring nothing to the collection. Ok, the VMA performance was a CLASSIC musical moment yes but it falls flat when just audio. The Gap advert, then the Gap advert is just something to fill some space and the unreleased out take is just boring.

- Metal Madonna???? This cd ROCKS!!!!
I LOVE this remix cd.
The mixes are not what you would expect, and I like that.
They are new, unexpected, but maintain the integrity of the original tracks.

Nothing Fails - one of American Lifes stand-out trax a beautiful ballad, has been sped up slightly, given some beats, made to sound a little 'harder', and had the choir removed by supremo DJ/Remix Jason Nevins. Its a new version, and one I now prefer to the original.

Love Profusion - This should have been American Lifes first single (though it is the current one for Christmas). Its such a beautiful track, Madonnas strongest single of A/Life without a doubt.
