The four parts of the 1999 Ring from Staatsoper Stuttgart were assigned to different Directors and casts, each music drama to be treated as a separate entity.

Act 1 of Walkure is the gem of the Zagrosek Ring, and the only performance I have personally seen that fully portrays the burning intensity of the genetic attraction (romantic love between siblings, usually occurring when separated at birth) between the twins, even the fine Nadine Secunde in both Barenboim and Haenchen Rings seems very conventional alongside the burning passion produced by Christof Nel a psychoanalyst. Angela Denoke is totally believable as the downtrodden wife of Hunding (Attila Jun), and Robert Gambil is a fine Siegmund.
