Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great songs on a fairly short release
YES, this is an EP and not actually a full release from the band. Don't expect a long disc. But, no matter the shortage, this cd has some rare tracks from this excellent band. You will like the 3 covers included on 'Complications', and if you're a fan, you will love the two original QOTSA tracks. 'Born to Hula' and 'The Bronze' are worth the while themselves. The odd remix of 'No One Knows' could however be easily switched with another (and better) b-side, and if that was the case it would be a 5-star for fans.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Wake up children
Just to clarify regarding the other reviews; Born to Hula and The Bronze are early QOTSA songs circa the first album and therefore among the most rocking stuff they've done- real gems. The covers are pretty poor and although you can admire their taste, the originals were better, as was the case later on with their ZZ Top cover (Precious and Grace). Worth getting for the right price.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The last influences of Nick?
This EP is worth buying just for the two original QOTSA tracks which finish it off (the last Homme/Oliveri compositions released?). "Born to Hula" and "The Bronze" should have made Songs for the Deaf an even more epic and more brilliant 17 song album. Turn it up.

Oh yeah, the other tracks - the remix of NoOne Knows is interesting but I wasn't a fan of the other 3 songs, all covers. But for those two above - buy it anyway

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Paying Hommage to Nick.....
A great little EP from QOTSA that any fan should try and get there hands on. It kicks off with another great Kinks cover - "Who'll be Next in Line?", if you liked the "Everybody's Gonna Be Happy" cover hidden at the end of Songs For The Deaf you'll enjoy this too. The two other covers on the EP are relatively weak but interesting none the less.

The classic UNKLE Reconstruction Mix of "No One Knows" appears mid way through and shines with it's soaring beats and distorted riffs, but the best is saved until last with "Born To Hula" and "The Bronze" - two tracks which appeared on the Man's Ruin Split EP and Beaver Split EP respectively. "Born To Hula" is awesome and is worth the price of the CD alone. Classic Stone Age riffage, Homme's ... Read More:
