It provides an out of the box industry standard that allows connection of up to seven USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H7 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system.Designed to provide quick and easy access, the D-Link DUB-H7 provides seven type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices, or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H7 to the host computer or another USB hub, enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. - Do not buy!
I got this item today morning and 4 hours later I just printed the return labels.
All the external hard drives did not work on it, all says unknown device or storage diveci cannot start. The printer is just printing like split 1 page to 5 and printing on 5 page. And I could not find any support for it! So its rubbish! I plugged in my old Trust 4 ports USB 2.0 HUB and ready to buy a new hub for the rest of the stuff. BUT SURELY NOT D-LINK!!! :(

* you must separate your USB devices into fast and slow. In my case fast includes external hard drive and webcam. slow includes mouse and keyboard. Only plug fast or slow devices into your hub. if you mix them, your slow devices will slow down your fast ones.
* it requires its own mains socket for power. (well it would - you can't get power for all 7 devices down the single cable that comes from your computer).

No messing about, took it out of the box pluged it in and away it went. Wish all computer gizmoes were like this. Only thing is with 7 usb leads coming out of the front and power and usb lead on the back its a bit akward to find somwhere to place it with it being so small. but exelent piece of kit does what it says.

I have previously used a belkin 7 port USB2.0 hub and had intermittent problems with connectivity. I checked the net and came across this hub. I read the reviews on Amazon and made a purchase. The reviews were spot on and I am delighted to confirm that it delivers on all ports at all times and is totally reliable. I have since, thrown my Belkin hub away, my only regret is not knowing about the D-Link DUB-H7 sooner. I strongly recommend it to anyone who is considering purchasing a hub.

This little gadget really does do its job. I've had absolutely no problems with mine since I got it several months ago.

You do need to be aware that it has a row of very bright green lights next the USB ports so you might want to put it where you can't see it while you're working. It's really quite small and not an intrusive object otherwise, and looks very neat in amongst my computer stuff!
