Editorial Review:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
Nintendo fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief: StarFox Armada is here and the unpleasant memories of the disappointingly bland StarFox Adventures can be forgotten forever. The original StarFox game (called StarWing in the UK) was the first ever 3D console game and Nintendo’s reinterpretation of classic 2D shoot ‘em-ups like R-Type and Gradius. Instead of flying sedately from left to right across the screen though in StarFox you zap through gargantuan space armadas and over bizarre alien worlds in what is undoubtely the best Star Wars game never made.

This long awaited sequel, developed by arcade masters Namco (creators of Soulcalibur and Air Combat) features even more of the same, with all the expected improvements in graphics and detail. However the main thrust of the game is the innumerate multiplayer modes with a four player co-operative mode where everyone can pilot their own fighter or simply sit on the wing of someone else’s and take pot-shots with a laser gun. When you’d prefer to hurt your friends rather than help them there’s also a full-featured deathmatch mode, where you get to run around on foot using sniper rifles and rocket launchers or climb aboard one of the various spacecraft and tanks that litter the arenas. This more open style of gameplay adds a whole new to dimension to the game, almost turning it into a kind of mini sci-fi version of Battlefield 1942. So forget about all that tedious object collecting from Rare’s unsung swansong and experience StarFox the way it’s mean to be. --David Jenkins

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - from what ive seen, its great.
i havnt played this game yet but ive watched some videos of it and its great.
good cutscenes, good graphics, great action, this game brings out everything about the star fox series. in short, a great game

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - really really short but really really sweet
I have played the classic on N64 and i was very hapy when i saw the add for this game ages ago, but i waited for the prices to drop on amoazon and got it second hand, this is my mums account but she treats me sometimes since its much cheaper than a game shop, i give her half of the money and shes pays for the other half free(im 11), any way the game is great. star fox games have allways been short and sweet(with the exseption of starfox adventure, witch i borred from my mate for a couple weeks, and i was amazed after 5 days i hadnt completed it like this game or star fox on the nitendo 64), but 10 missions for this game? a joke. the grapics are amazing and the music is good, so is the game play and controls, but the only problem is the value. ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - War on Lylat...
Now, I'll admit I was initially disapointed when I'd finished this game... it is incredibly short, a few hours... and without the multi-branching gameplay this lowers the want to replay this game...

But... I have to say, the more I played the more I really began to like this game, graphically its quite pretty, and the very first mission is a nice start, Bringing back the much loved Arwing Mission's Lost (Pratically) from the okay, but not great StarFox Adventures. To begin with, I was not very fond of the on foot missions... but once Id finished and started on a harder setting I enjoyed it much more, the number of targets increase, and bosses are far more enjoyable now they dont fall so quickly.
In Particlular a mission that ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great game!
This is a great game with some superb graphics used! The thing is, its a little like Lylat Wars 64 on the N64 and that was brilliant! This game is very good too, great action lies ahead and the enemies are created very well and its not too easy os its a challenge which is very good also! The vechicles are there, starwing, the tank and you can also move on foot too!! Loads of weapons and some great cut scenes too! This is worth it so go and buy it!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Too short
This game is a good fun blast but falls short of classic status due to the fact that it takes about 3 hours to complete. You can of course replay it, and I have done as apart from the length the game is exceptional fun.
As I enjoyed this game so much I found it easy to forgive the shortness and have now completed it 5 times (no kidding!!!) and am still not bored. But if the retro linear design of the past fox games didn't seem awesome then you won't want to get it- as it's so short it's only worth getting if you really like starfox or it is in a sale- which this game never is from what I have seen.
One more thing though- the multiplayer is brilliant, it may not be xbox live but it is tremendous fun with 3 mates and I reckon it is better ... Read More:
