- The only real alternative to the TomTom standard mount and thankfully its quite good
You do need to use the base from the original mount that comes with your TomTom with this kit.

It allows you a variety of alternative set-ups for mounting your Sat Nav. You can use the extended goose neck on your windscreen, which is longer than the standard mount. (although very wobbly on the road) Or you can use it dash mounted or vent mounted, which is the way I use mine.

I have a TomTom GO 500 and this has made a great difference in the way I have it fitted now.

Do not buy!!! Flimsy, cheap plastic looking tack that is being sold at threee times the price it should be.
Bought this for the air vent dashboad mount and it broke before I could even use it.
The other parts look like you could buy them at Wilkinsons for 49p each.
Look elsewhere for your Tom Tom mounts as if you buy this you will just do as I did and return it to the seller and ask for your money back.

This is the only way to get the air vent mount for the tomtom one new version (that I have found anyway) shame you have to buy all the other bits too.

I think the confusion the other customers have is between the 'additional mount kit' i.e. to use in another car and the 'alternative mount kit' which is to make your tomtom fit in the one car i.e. you need to use bits which came with your tomtom too.

I would recommend reading in detail the list from the tomtom website which makes it a bit clearer....I have had several close calls in trying to buy something for the new version One as not many sellers bother telling you if items are for the old version or the new version! READ CAREFULLY!

I was hoping to use this kit to mount the tomtom on the air vent. The kit is missing the mounting plate that actually connects the assembly to the tomtom. The v2 tomtom One is supplied with a sucker based mount that does NOT disassemble. So if you want to use this kit you have to buy another sucker type mount for the One and hope that it can be disassembled and put together with the contents of this kit. Also NO instructions. Alot of expense just to mount on the airvent.

I'm very disappointed to find that this item is not compatible with the 510, 710 and 910. I know this now, because on the box it says very clearly that it is not compatible with the Tom Tom Go 510, 710 and 910 ! However at the time of purchasing this item from Amazon, this information was nowhere to be found in the description which only describes the item as "Alternative Mount Kit for Go and ONE".

It seems that the suction mount that comes with the Tom Tom Go has changed with the latest 510,710 and 910 series, so there is no part of it that can be used with this kit. You need the electrical connector part of the Tom Tom Go mount to go with this kit.

If you have a 510, 710 or 910 DO NOT GET THIS KIT.
