I was disappointed with the function of this toaster as the long slot is not very tall. With a conventional height slice of bread sticking out of the top by a good inch and a half. You can, of course, lay the slice of bread down but then you can only fit one slice in. The form/appearance of this toaster cannot, however, be faulted and the toasting very even.

When my trusty old Tefal thick n' thin toaster finally packed up after many years of loyal service, I was disappointed to find they were no longer made.
Looking for an alternative, I realised that there is a current gap in the market for slimline, single-long-slot toasters that will adapt automatically to take any thickness of bread, whether it be thin sliced, thick wholegrain, chunky nan bread, pittas or crumpets.
I narrowed my search down to the Phillips HD2618 (too expensive at nearly £70), the Russell Hobbs 10617 (didn't have good reviews) and the Krups F167.
I made the right choice with the Krups 2-slice stainless steel toaster.
