After a couple of hours on the net looking at ear phones (it's difficult when you can't try them out),
I purchased the ER6I's. This was based on all the good reviews they were getting and I can completely go with that. Sound quality is fantastic - the bass can lack a little some times but that problem is easily overcome by adjusting the EQ setting on my pod. Cable noise can transmit into the ears as I use them in the gym quite a bit. Easily solved as the cable has a securing clip to stop it moving about. Quite a strange sensation when using as the sound seems to emit from within your head creating a very clever stereo effect. Buy some, you will not be disappointed - they are a quality product.

I purchased these earphones for use with my Cowon D2 mp3 player. I'd previously been using a pair of "Sparkplugs" by Koss, but one of the earbuds stopped working so decided to try these instead.

I cannot use normal ear "plugs" as my right ear canal is larger than my left, and I have terrible trouble getting the normal style ear plugs to stay in. With these, (and the Sparkplugs) it's not an issue. I only use the 3 flange tips, but with my large ear canals I find the fit perfect.

The cable length is slightly long, but it's better to have a cable with a bit too much length than not enough.

The bass isn't astounding, and for the price of the ER-6i's I must say I was expecting slightly more. However, a quick ... Read More:

After a year of using these ety's I can't help but be astounded by their versatility. Being a student I use them on a daily basis and as such they have been through many trials. From shutting the cable in car doors, dragging them (accidentally) over concrete, and yet listening to them afterwards they sounds as crystal as when I first got them. They look as if they might break in the first week of buying them but I've evidently found this to not be the case! The actual clarity supersedes any that I've heard from friends 'phones as well as my own (Shure e2c and Sony Fontopia's a few years ago). Both of which are put to shame by the quality of this product.

I have had these for about 4 months now, and have used them for ~3 hours a day virtually every day since.

Initial thoughts
I must admit that when I received them, I thought to myself "These are so small, I hope I havent wasted my money here!". The packaging is a bit big, but it does include a small case to hold them, which is a good thing. I tried quite a few of the earpiece options, and found the the bigger rubber ones worked the best for me. the tiny ones just fell inside my ears, and the foam ones would get dirty very quickly.

- Good, but not that good.
I have owned and used these for over a year. I can say that the sound isolation is excellent. This enables low-volume listening and therefore your perception of the sound quality is naturally higher - because none of the components are having to overload to deliver an audible experience.

However, the low-end bass is a real let down. Yes you do have to fit them very deep/carefully, but even then there is distinct absence of low-frequency depth (I'm using the er-6i). I've conducted many tests in quiet environments to analyse this.

The foam surrounds are by far the most comfortable, but obviously soil easily and wear relatively quickly - replacements are also ridiculously expensive for what they are.
