One of the most acclaimed celebrity fitness DVDs of recent times, Charlie Brooks’ Before And After Workout finds fitness trainer Dee Thresher putting the former soap star through her paces with a series of five ten minute workouts.

Brooks herself claims to have lost a couple of stone using the routines on the disc already, and it’s easy to believe why. And rather than, as some in the genre choose to do, focusing heavily on the celebrity, this fitness discs puts its firm emphasis on the workout routines. They’re explained clearly, are straightforward to follow, and there’s enough variety to ensure you don’t get bored.

The routines are of varying difficulty, and unless you’re already fighting fit, it’s feasible that you’ll have some trouble with them in the early days. But then that’s the point. And because none of the workouts outstay their welcome, there’s little reason not to stay motivated. Sure, you’ll end up working hard, but there’s nothing on this disc that outstays its welcome.

It’s surprising perhaps to find a fitness DVD that has earned such acclaim, but having followed Charlie Brooks’ Before And After Workout through, the plaudits are well deserved. So if you’ve ever been frustrated by a celebrity workout disc that’s proven to be more about the former than the latter, then this will be a very welcome treat.--Ann Foster

This dvd has changed my life. I find myself fitting into clothes which I haven't worn for ages. It's fun, happy and I find it an easy to follow work out.
I have no co-ordination whatsoever and did find it difficult to start with, but as Charlie says, you have to do this workout at least 3 times a week and once you've done it a few times and got used to all the moves, it soon becomes second nature.
While Dee and Charlie are exercising they are having a great laugh and making me laugh too, I love that in this dvd it's so much fun.
The food and diet information is very good, lots of good tasty things to make and eat.
Well worth the money.

This is an excellent workout. Charlie works well with Dee, her trainer and at no point do they annoy or repeat, so it doesn't grate on you if you are doing it for the 100th time!

It is broken down into a warm up and then a disco section, which is fun, but very easy. Next is a combat section which is much harder and will break you into a sweat. This is then followed by a high intensity section, which is extremely intense!! It is probably the most intense 10 minutes on any dvd I have ever done and I do a lot! It isn't long though and when you start to find it easier you really know that your fitness level is improving. - Done it twice and lost a kilo already!
I had this dvd delivered on friday and already I have used it twice. Its is a really fun workout and for a novice like me I couldn't get through the whole thing in one go. All the parts are great except for the disco section, which I thought was a bit repetitive, however it made made you sweat. The best sections of all are the high intensity and final pilates section where you really feel the stomach working without resorting to 500 crunches! I'm planning on using it every other day. Having done it only twice I've lost just over a kilo already! Its really motivating and easy to follow - great value for money. Well worth buying this is if you want to achieve results in a fun way!

Up to now I havd only invested in Davina DVDs of which I have all 3. I bought Charlie's DVD for a change of scene. It's very different. More fast moving. The instructor is very good. Dee cues well. m
Mind you, I feel like a baby elephant when I compare my moves with her. You need more cordination for this DVD [something I am sadly lacking]. If you like dancing you will love this DVD. The time passes quickly & you feel like you have had a great workout.
The set is very girly - lots of pink.
I love the Pilates cool down.
You don't need any special equipment other than a yoga mat & you could even manage without that.

I brought this DVD after reading many glowing reviews.It arrived in the post this morning and I have already given it ago.It's alot harder to follow than I thought it would be.Now I admit I'm not the most gracious of movers.The whole cha cha thing had me completely lost.Now I admit I have only done this once and hopefully the more I do it the beter I will get.On first impressions Charlie and Dee move a bit too quickly for me to follow.Hopefully I will be able to leave a better review in a months time when I have lost a stone like Charllie did.
