Just purchased this for my Mum who's 80, and a Parkinson's sufferer. The feature which attracted me was the AMPLIFICATION. Out of the box, first impressions are "this is huge"! It's almost twice the size of a normal phone. But then it is called "Big"! Buttons are what it says on the tin - big too!

Now to the amplification. You have ability to set INcoming and OUTgoing amplification via a binary switch on the BASE of the unit. I immediately set it to IN and then increased volume to highest via front volume+/- switch. Then I flipped to OUTgoing and did the same. Now wouldn't you expect those setting to remain in place so my Mum would have to change them? Well they don't. You can only set one at a time and they revert to default of ... Read More:
