Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Could have been great
First of all, a lot of people say this film has great graphics. I would agree in places it does, but there are other bits where the characters look like they're out of San Andreas for the Playstation. The film portrays a futuristic world with a lot going on in it. Unfortunately there is too much going on and due to the film only being 99mins long I felt that many aspects of this world were not adequately explored.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Um, no...
I'm sorry, I'm amazed this has scored so highly on here; this was far from great. To get straight to the point, the ambitious mixing of (albeit a few) actors with CGI characters was bad for a start; with the exception of one or two (obviously more important) characters, the quality of the effects made it all too noticeable as to who was real and who wasn't. Some people have called this eye-candy, and while there are some visually impressive bits the flaws ruin it from being quite up to that title, which is a shame because it is possibly the film's only strength. The acting was god-awful, but with the script that they had to work with, it's unfair of me to expect more of the actors; I actually can't remember the last time I cringed so much at ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - French Sci Fi Comics movie
If you've ever read Heavy Metal magazine or picked up a graphic novel by Moebius or Bilal or seen Les Maitres du Temps, you should have a good idea of what to expect from this film. Basically you get a gorgeous looking design, full of flying cars, overgrown futuristic metropolises and flying pyramids, that mixes CGI with real actors (a lot of the characters are cgi but the main actors survive intact), mixed with a bizarre symbolic storyline that trades more on fairy tale traditions and mythology than you get in Hollywood and British SF and characters that are depicted quite shallowly.

The first two elements of the film, the way it looks (which is beautiful and holds your attention the whole way through) and the story, are both fine. ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best SF films I've seen for a long time
i'm a big fan of Enki Bilal's books, and this is a visually incredible adaptation of the material in Gods in Chaos... It outdoes Blade Runner and Fifth Element in its dystopian city futurescapes, and its storyline does not pander to neat Hollywood structures and endings. True, the CGI sections could have been slightly better, but there is a thematic distinction between the scenes which use real actors and those which do not. This is a multilayered story with a tragic mood that really appeals - Jill Bioskop, the beautiful heroine who cries blue tears and is cursed with special powers is a marvellous invention. The film merits several viewings both to appreciate the meaning and the design.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Highly imaginative
I really enjoyed this film. It's romatic sci-fi 1984 stuff with a bit of Egyptianj throwen in. Linda Hardy (Jill) and Thom Kretschmann (Nikopoll) are a great couple. She's really sexy and he's cool. This film is part of the graphic novels by Enki Bilal. It is highly imaginative film but has one flaw. The CGI is a bit game like. Because it blends live action and CGI it doesnt pull it off. Some of the scenes are realy plastic. But for all that, it's a really good watch.
