- Amazing grill - perfect paninis
This does everything you could want. Makes excellent toasted sandwiches, makes fantastic pancakes if you have it out flat as a griddle. It is wonderful to be able to put the plates into the dishwasher. The outside does get VERY hot but it is a grill, after all. Really delighted with this product.

- Well worth the extra cash.
This is a brilliant product. I've had 2 cheaper types before it, so when the second one finally gave up I was delighted that my girlfriend purchased this one for me. To put it into perspective - I cant use this on the highest heat setting as it is too hot!

I hate washing up - so also highly recommended for those who want to pop the plates in the dishwasher.

I've been using this product now for about 3 months and I really recommend (based on previous disappointments) that it you're shopping for a griddle, pay the extra for this one. It's extremely good. Cleaning is easy, and it's a nice, big, metal, solid lump of a thing which looks as though it might last 20 years rather than 20 uses.

My only gripe - and in reality, I suspect this is my fault, rather than Cuisinart's - is that the plain grill plates have warped slightly. It's not a problem if you're cooking anything more than about 3 mm thick, which is what you'd tend to use the plain plates for anyway, but it niggles at the engineer / pedant's part of my brain as I try to figure out how I can straighten them! Used this griddle/grill for a couple of months now and really have to say I'm now a big fan of Cuisinart. Detachable hot plates are easy to clean and choice of ridged or flat is great depending on what you fancy (if you like a "healthy" fry-up this can handle meat on one side and eggs, bread etc. on the other). Agree that so many thermostatic controls seem like overkill, but I suppose it adds flexibility. I've had a few George Forman type grills in the past and they aren't nearly as good as this.

This is my fourth contact grill and the best of the lot. I have always loved the concept and taste of fat reduced food but the cleaning of the others was a real chore and eventually they became unhygienic in my opinion so were binned. This one has completely removable plates which just pop into the dishwasher for full cleaning. Additionally the cooking is completely controllable which allows you to cook different foods with ease. To sum it up, a great product.
