Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Almost brilliant if not for one glaring omission...
The screen quality is very good for the price, although the vertical viewing angle is not great, so you need to mount it at the right height that it will most often be viewed at. The sideways viewing angle is better.

It downscales 5MP images well on the 1024x768 screen, and allows you to zoom in reasonably quickly, so you don't need to resize your images unless you are worried about memory card space.

How you like this product depends on how you intend to use it. For taking a card out of a camera and viewing your images it is very good indeed - I'd give it 5 stars.

For a permanent installation in your living room though, it has some problems.

Having bought this device second-hand without a manual, USB cable or remote control, here are some extra tips I found online:

(By the way, nobody is going to get this off me for any money as I am very pleased with it - even without a remote!)

PC CONNECTION

I read in the manuals and FAQs on Polaroid.com for the Polaroid model XSU-01220B (a very similar device to this) that there is no support for connection to a PC. So I recommend avoiding this, as a previous person has said.

USB HARD DRIVE CONNECTION

This frame is absolutely brilliant in colour, clarity, brightness and sound quality. I'm absolutely delighted with it.
The user manual, however, leaves a lot to be desired. There are no step-by-step instructions.
For instance if you want to connect the frame to a computer, logic suggests the USB port on the computer and the PC inlet on the frame, but the manual just says to connect it with the lead supplied. Either end would fit my computer and there are sockets for both ends of the lead on the frame. It does not say whether you have to plug the frame in before switching on the computer or if you can do it on the fly. It does not say whether you have to connect the frame to power and switch on, or whether it draws power from the USB ... Read More:

The photo frame arrived today. It is a pressie for my parents wedding anniversary and I think they will love it. it seems very straight forward to use. I plugged it in- inserted my SD card which I have been loading with scanned old photos-and wow the photos look great the screen is a really good size and even photos taken with my mobile phone look good-I want one!!!

Hello there, may I say bravo and well done to Digi View for making such an easy bit of kit to use. The other digital photo frame`s that are on sale here seem to be somewhat lacking in both reliablility total customer satifaction. I opened the box tonight, plugged the little blighter in then slipped my HD card in and before you could say `the gerrys dont like it up em`, I was looking at glorious pictures of myself with the intent of sending the frame to my wonderful girlfriend in the UK....within a matter of minutes!
Drive on and keep up the good work Digi View! what what!
