I like to follow the reviews on Amazon, taking them as a good way to find new stuff I wouldn't otherwise stumble upon. Sometimes it works, other times you wonder if the (majority of) reviewers were really paying attention. This was one of the latter situations.

The music is so dull I can't be bothered to describe it any further. I listened to the CD trying desperately to fight the feeling it was going in the bin. But the feeling won.

If you're still thinking about it. Make sure you give it a thorough listen on the web first.

Not a bad track on the album, great mix of styles, great voice, lyrics etc. A must buy for the summer!

There is clearly an audience for this sort of thing, as evidenced by the glowing reviews that relate to this album. But I have to say that I remain utterly unconvinced by this offering, which sounds like the work of an artist who has listened to the work of other, talented artists from within predominantly black musical genres and concluded that their talent was equal to the task of recording other similarly inspired music. The result is an attempt to cover as many bases as possible which might lend themselves to the word 'funky' and the possible future 4/4 house remixes to be sold to gullible lemmings.

This album is a fantastic fusion of jazz, soul, drum and bass and many other styles.As the other reviews have rightly suggested this is very similar in style to Jazzanova and ugly duckling etc. I think Gilles and Ben should be praised for creating such an innovative disk of music and if this isn't a big seller i will be astonished.
