- Good sound? Really?
O.k so there seems to be some mixed reviews and accuasations of fakes over these phones. Please let me add my 2 cents. I bought a pair from HMV for £55 to replace my CX 300's. I was incredible dissapointed with the mid range and muddy sound(EQ set to flat). Bass was great thoughwith the bass booster set to on, on the ipod, but drowned everything else out. Luckily the wire broke within a week, so i returned the to the store, got 2 new pairs of 300s on speical at £20 and was refunded the £15 difference. The moral of the story is i went for 2 pairs of the cheaper model in the line instead of 1 pair of these(tho i would of been happy with any headphones except these). Really comfortable, purchased a Sony MP3 player about a month ago and have purchased four different types of headphone both in ear and round ears to try and get a comfortable pair and these are great, my left ear canal must be different from the right but these are pefect using two different rubber caps and the sound is excellent, this is one very happy bunny

Hi Guys & Girls,

Now I have spent about a week trawling through reviews of various headphones. I have some Bose on ear headphones which are I must say amazing ! Rich deep tones and bass that is out of this world. Use it with my Itouch and Mac.

Enough of the plug of the Bose however there is a reason why I bring this into the equation. Now the On ear Bose headphones are slightly big for commuting and not for the run of mill ordinary worker commute ie walk to bus stop get on bus get of bus and then get on train etc. I think you understand me.

My review is for these headphones on an ordinary commute day to day.

Sennheisers quality cannot be denied, it's as simple as that.

After buying my ipod, i bought a set of 'sennheisers' on an auction site at a ridiculously low price, and to this day i reckon they were fakes. They were tinny and fell apart after a month. When i went on to purchase these on Amazon, i had a nagging at the back of my mind on my previous purchase. i had owned other sennheisers previous and decided to plump for the CX500 Earphone.

What a good decision that was!

These are the best headphones i have owned. I am back to the in ear phones as they tend to block out external noise far better that even the expensive noise reduction ones on the market I have tried. The bass is great for the money, and they ... Read More:

- Minor gripes but decent sound.
Personally I find the sound quality of the CX500s very good and they are comfortable headphones with a useful range of accessories. The noise isolation is reasonable for the price, though one byproduct of this is very noticeable "cable rub" noise.

This may seem an unusual complaint (though I've seen it mentioned in a number of other reviews) but the packaging really is appalling. You have to work hard not to slice yourself and the headphones to pieces whilst hacking your way in. I am guessing it is designed this way to make them difficult to return to shops once opened, but it is both a waste of plastic and a real annoyance.
