- quite a nice little unit, but.......
I am using this with a Ipod Nano and it is pretty good and a nice design. takes up little desk space. sound is pretty good and there is a remote - takes a bit to get used to and really needs line of sight.

only down point is that at lower volumes, when long track names are played, the title scrolls across the screne and a clicking noise comes out (a bit like the clicking noise when using the wheel thingy but not so loud - and yes, i have the clicker turned off on the ipod). Mines is on my work desk and right close to me. move it further away and the noise is not heard.

annoying enough for me to take back though.

- JBL Soundstage 3- great but beware Audio out.
Excellent device which I have been delighted with. One aspect that caused some confusion was the audio out connector (even reputable shop where I bought it replaced my unit thinking it was faulty). Apparently this audio out is not so that you can connect to an external amp and speakers but is to connect another soundstage device up (why you would want that is beyond me). Did bit of web searching and found that you can put the audio out with adaptor from jack on jbl to phono plugs into your phono connection of your amp, where you normally only put record decks (turntables). It works, however sound is not great and you need to mute sound of soundstage device to stop it competing with amp and speakers. Otherwise great device.

This is is an excellent product. It creates a perfect way to quickly and neatly dock your Ipod with your PC both to update the iPod and recharge it. Additionally, it allows you to playback from your iPod with exceptionally good quality and using the supplied remote you can control most iPod functions. The unit is mains or battery powered and has a number of small diameter speaker units built into the base of it which deliver high quality sound although you should not expect "earthquaking" bass. This version III is the latest iteration of this product which looks even better than previous versions and will require only a very small footprint on your desk.
