Amazon.co.uk:

As the all-new racing experience from Codemasters Studios, creators of Colin McRae: DiRT™, Race Driver: GRID is all about the race. Every moment from the adrenalin rush at the start lights to the elation at the chequered flag – the tension, pressure, noise, and action.

Featuring only the most powerful race cars – current and classic, circuit and drift – players will compete to conquer the most prestigious official race tracks and championships and then go beyond to compete in challenging city-based competitions, through to road events and urban street races.

With races crammed with action and incident, high-impact moments will come at you thick and fast, one right after another: engine blows, tyre blow outs, tight overtaking, accidents, opponent cars flipping, spinning, collisions with other cars and trackside objects.

From humble beginnings, earning a few thousand dollars a season, build a feared and respected racing team with a multi-million dollar income and complete at dramatic race locations and dominate a multi-disciplined world of racing.

In Europe, race prestige Marques, including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani, on the greatest official race circuits. Enter street competitions and race high-performance V8 muscle cars through iconic U.S. cities including San Francisco, Washington DC and Detroit. In the Far East, Japanese racing culture sets the tone where night races, including Drift racing, take drivers through neon illuminated cities and to outlying mountain roads.

As the antithesis of the box-ticking, plodding single-player race game, Race Driver: GRID delivers a diverse career mode in a persistent world of racing that provides each player with a unique experience as their team writes itself into racing folklore.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The worst handling ever
This game may work on other formats but on the PC it is a complete disaster. It is impossible to control the cars using a key board. I am experienced in keyboard driving games and this is by far the worst I have ever played. The graphics etc are OK but what is the point if you can't even get round one circuit at a decent rate of knots. After two hours of battling, changing options etc I just gave up and uninstalled it. Anyone want the game for 10p? You can't even change the brake key to be the space bar or something sensible. It is the down arrow key which is really uncomfortable. Just give it a miss.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - RACE DRIVER grid (pc)
I think this game is really good. It looks fantastic and the replays are incredible. The format of the game is ok, initially you have one car and limited races to enter, as you earn money and Reputation points so the game opens up. I have the likes of GTR EVO and RACE 07 etc they are simulaions this is more arcade like but none the less I have found it enjoyable and challenging. Some of the cars are difficult to handle, however as with most things in life practice makes you better, I mean driving a front wheel drive saloon should not feel anything like driving a Mustang where you get loads of rear end slide, but when you master it .. wow it feels and looks great. Anyway if you want a full on sim this is not for you, but if you want a challenging ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Utterly great
There are a fair old mix of reviews of this one. Terrible handling and gameplay some say; well I expect they have made the same mistake I did when I first fired it up. Do not, under any circumstances, just put your foot down and expect to get past so much as the first bend.

Even with a high quality wheel and pedals, this game requires some tact and diplomacy. To succeed you need to drive SLOWER ... or at least slow enough to control your cornering in particular. Kind of like real driving actually.

Which isn't to say Grid is realistic, because it isn't. It's gameplay, with all of the nutty compromises that brings with it. But it does require an element of care, you need to brake hard into corners, and accelerate hard out ... Read More:

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Looks can be deceptive
Anyone planning to buy this game needs to be aware of the following. Visually it is without fault. Stunning in fact. But from the first time you try to turn any of the cars on offer you will soon realise that this is an awful game. I have tried and tried to get the controls of the game to allow me to enjoy even the most basic of races. Video games are supposed to be challenging but ultimately fun. Wheres the fun in spending the first few hours trying to alter the controls so that you can atleast complete a lap without totalling the car. i've given up. I'm off to buy a fun game instead. Anybody got any ideas?

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Out of Control
I got the game yesterday off Metaboli's download site - never again. I was impatient for a new game. I spent three hours+ doing a download then a few hours trying to get it to work (-novirtual nonsense), adding a patch and updating drivers. When I did get it working, it was terrible since reasonable car control is severely lacking and the other cars are only too happy to take you out too often. They are also quicker and recover from the frequent crashes very easily. Understeer and oversteer are rampant. The game seems to be of the Carmageddon variety: smashing and crashing ad infinitum. If I could get a refund I would. System wise I have a Core2duo at 3.5GHz, 8800GT overclocked to 700/1000, 2GB RAM and use an Xbox360 controller (which I can't reconfig ... Read More:
