Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Stunning
Just a beautiful album, with the band sounding so relaxed and note perfect. I really do recommend this so much. And don't forget to pop the DVD into your PC for the extra mp3s: so far there's 'Wot's Uh...the Deal', Dominoes and a rather amazing Shine On You Crazy Diamond. A new track will be added every month until September 2009. How great a package is this! :-)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Long live Sir Gilmour

Amazing, beautiful and fantastic!

Gilmour is on the top of the prog and classic rock royal families and this album shows well that.

This album also pays a fair tribute to Rick Wright... Shine on...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pink Floyd's last hurrah!
If you held out hope that maybe floyd would re convene after their Live 8 reunion, well that hope is now dashed with the passing of the legendary Rick Wright, a very talented organist who watched as successive leaders disintegrated into mental Illness or fell out spectacularly. This is the closest you'll get to a Pink Floyd live experience. It was the last night of Gilmour's "On an Island" tour in Gdansk in August 2006.
never afraid to trot out the same songs it starts with "Speak to me" segueing into "Breathe" from Dark Side, just when you thought you're in for a full helping of Dark Side Dave wisely plays his (entire) album and It's all right in a sort of banal Division Bell way.
This album gets its plaudits for the second disc, ... Read More:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - cherry picking
Being a hard core Floyd fan for many years after hearing Meddle I've tried to buy everything that I can afford. I've watched three tracks from this package: High Hopes, Echoes and Comfortable Numb - three of my favourite tracks. High Hopes is incredible especially the last few acoustic minutes. I can't decide whether I prefer this version of Echoes or the version on "A Night to Remember" - I think the latter. Comfortably Numb is, as always, brilliant - although I would have liked an extended guitar solo. As I've yet to watch both DVDs and haven't even listened to the CDs I leave my review there. But something I mean to do in the near future is to watch the Live at Pompei Echoes and then the Night to Remember version. Question: Where's Nick ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Fitting Tribute
I bought this yesterday and have payed it a couple of times already. The live versions of the 'On an Island' material surpass the studio versions. Top track is 'Echoes', showing off Rick Wright's extraordinary talents without him 'showing off', if you see what I mean. What is always good to see on live DVDs is how the band interact - there are some lovely smiles and nods of appreciation - they look like they are having fun. Gilmour and Wright shine, but Guy Pratt and Phil Manzanera provide excellent backup and the addition of the orchestra really make it the special occasion it was.

All in all, a great album and, more importantly, a fitting tribute to the late great Rick Wright. RIP.
