Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A lovely little machine
I had one of these delivered yesterday, and am finding it quick, light, quiet and very easy to use. It found my wireless network within seconds of booting up and logged on first time. I have also used it around the house and had no problem when I am away from the router.

Was slightly worried I wouldn't be able to touch type on it, but am having no problems. Also the screen is large enough and bright enough to allow my 40+ eyes to read it easily!

Overall a sexy little machine which is doing exactly what I want it to and which I am looking forward to being able to take out and about, given that I can carry it easily in one hand.

Recommended for anyone looking for real mobile computing power.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great!
Had this for a week now and very happy with my choice. It's a little larger than the others, but this is more than compensated for by the keyboard size and battery life. I would not like to type on anything smaller. Agree with other reviewers that the right shift key is annoyingly placed/sized, but otherwise keyboard is fine. Have found the track-pad to be more than usable, despite some complaints elsewhere.
Battery life has got to be what lifts the Asus above the competition - what's the point of having a portable if you're tied to a wall-socket?
XP runs just fine - optimised with fast boot-up/shut-down. I much prefer it over Linux since I can install some favourite apps such as iTunes and rent movies/ transfer video content with ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - All round excellent product, value for money
I was originally going to wait it out for the new S101, however a £100 price difference no way reflects the value for money. I have had this laptop now for about a month (bought from PCWORLD with staff discount for £315, not from Amazon). Just one thing to verify from reading other reviews - it has 3 USB 2.0 ports, not two, however if you are using this a truely portable laptop how you could use all three im not too sure. The fan underneath when I first purchased this did seem quite noisy, only really noticeable in a compeltely silent room, however is to be expected from a mechanical drive anyway. Since then the noise has seemed to become less noticeable, either that or I have just become used to it! Have been using it at college for about 4 ... Read More:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent netbook. Worths every single penny!
I purchased this lovely netbook a week ago. I was hesitating between this model and others such as the Samsung NC10. Now I am very happy I opted for the ASUS as Samsung is not a netbook maker whereas ASUS is. This netbook is built in quality. I was expecting this machine to be built with cheap, plastic or material but not at all. It feels rock solid, a lot better than my hp which cost me £1000. The netbook works pretty quick, no problem with it at all.
Some quick thoughts about:
- Webcam is good,
-is excellent and pretty fast transfer data with the wifi -n,
- multi touch pad is brillliant (although you need to download and install the new driver)
- screen is bright,
- keyboard is manageable enough, I am now ... Read More:

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dead notebook
Having purchased an ASUS EEE PC 1000H netbook less than three weeks ago, I came home this evening after work, switched it on and - NOTHING - completely dead ie no charging light, zilch. Tried resetting, nothing. The slim manual it comes with is rudimentary and contains no troubleshooting guide. When I switched it off last night it had been working perfectly well up to that point, but it is now a shiny expensive black paperweight. Asus Support keep civilised hours ie knock off at 5, so it will be tomorrow before I can ring their helpdesk to ascertain if it's fixable or if I have to return it. I would guess the latter. As I have loaded software, files etc which I currently have no way of retrieving, this is extremely inconvenient and to say I'm ... Read More:
