Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Yet
Fantastic read, i am a big fan of this series and it is the best one yet. Anyone who has read any of the other books in this series will not be dissapointed. Can't wait for the next.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Absolutely brilliant...Ms Kenyon has done it again!!!
*****SPOILERS*****

What can I say other than this book is absolutely breathtaking!

I have followed this series from book 1 and love everything about it. This book is the cherry on top of the cake and leaves you desperate for her next installment.

The first half is heartbreaking, raw and utterly devastating in it's truth of the human life of Acheron. It is totally necessary to read this part as it gives you a much better feel of who he is and how hard things are for him and to trust his heroine.

The second part is funny, moving, happy and completely satisfying. The part he is on the floor with his arms wrapped round his legs would bring a tear to a glass eye. Artemis also gets as my Mum would say 'a good kick up her a*&$!!!' which having read the book is very satisfying.

If you buy any book this year buy this one you won't be disappointed!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing!
I loved this book, even though I was concerned it woulnt live up to my expectations of Acheron. Through out the rest of the series you have been given little glimpses of him and I had such high expectations of him as a god/Dark Hunter. I was not disappointed. Part one of the book was hard to read at times and made me cry at certain points, but that is what I think makes a good book, one that you actually have emotions about. It explains why he is guarded and un trusting and makes you love him even more than before. Part two is set in New Orleans in the present day and reverts to the old humour of the other Dark Hunter books. You still see the side of Ash that you do in other books but now you understand why he is like this.

I didnt want this book to end and even after I had finished I was thinking about Ash and his life for hours after wards. I cant wait for the next part of this series, even though it will be from a completley different point of view. As I am sure we will then understand why the demons and daimons are the way they are, as we have seen with Urian.

I wouldnt recomend reading this book as your first dark hunter book as it would be too much to take in. Start with some of the others first to get an idea of how everyone fits together.

But as I said this book was amazing as is the whole Dark Hunter series!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sooooo worth the wait
It's been nearly five years since I read "Night Pleasures"; the first official Dark-Hunter novel and I've been waiting for Ash's book ever since. So the big question; is "Acheron" worth the wait? ...... yes, yes, YES! Although this is an absolute massive book (over 700 pages) I could have read it in one sitting; yet I found myself needing several "time outs" following some particularly emotive chapters to allow my heart beat to slow to a healthy speed.

Part one of this book; some 400 pages, starts with the pregnancy of Apollymi and the threat against her unborn son Apostolos (who we know as Acheron). As he is fated to bring about the destruction of the Atlantean Pantheon, the Gods decide to kill him; however the devoted Apollymi puts plans in motion to safeguard the life of her son. Extracting him from her womb and ordering that he be placed inside the body of a human queen, she believes Acheron will be granted a life of privilege, wealth and adoration before claiming his Godhood and freeing her from her imprisonment. Much more is learnt of Apollymi throughout part one of "Acheron", and yes by the end of this book I liked the Goddess of Destruction; despite her "destroy the Earth" fixation.

Acheron's mortal life is far from what Apollymi assumed it would be. Brutalised by his father and brother and later degraded in every way imaginable; physically, mentally and sexually, Acheron is an empty shell until reluctantly falling in love with the Goddess Artemis and believing her when she tells him she will never betray or hurt him. Well, we all know how that turns out!

The second part of this book is set in the modern day and we finally meet Acheron's match; a woman who loves him unconditionally (blue skin, horns, destructive powers and all); something Artemis despite her own declarations of love is unable to do. There has been great debate over who Ash would be matched to, and to my delight it is the woman I thought it would be (sorry folks I'm not giving away her name but as SK hinted at, she does appear in a previous book). SK got it spot on with this match and does so in such a way to completely negate Ash's need for Artemis in his life.

There are chapters in this book where I actually began to think mmm Artie isn't so bad after all and she really does love Acheron then bam .. straight back to the heifer Goddess we love to hate. Let's just say Acheron's love interest is able to firmly stake her claim on her man and warn Artemis away with threats she is more than capable of dolling out.

So much happens in this book that a short review could never do it justice. An avid fan or a novice to the Dark-Hunter world, you'll love "Acheron"; both the character and the book. What a hero; he's completely ruined me for any other fantasy man!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Incredible....
Completely satisfiying read....amazing.

If this book doesn't bring tears to your eyes...then you must be a corpse. It was everything I hoped for and I felt it was great closure for the first arc of this series. You will go through such a range of strong emotions while you read this book, from intense hatred to exhileration and sheer joy. A smattering of new characters but they were mostly in the past. I think SK's latest additions to the series seem to be bombarded with so many new characters but with this one we had quite a few old favourites making a reappearance.

Definately worth the wait.
