Rating: - Love it!
This is an interesting concept - hypnotic music dubbed with language to help it sink in. I saw this for sale on amazon and checked out the publishers site (where you can hear samples). One play and I was sold on the idea (amazon worked out almost 50% cheaper by the way).

The CD is now on my MP3 player and a regular listen. I'm not sure if it is totally perfect for beginners as the order on the CD is quite random (starts with "I would like a coffee, with milk, please", and teaches you how to say "I am vegetarian" before you can count to ten). However, for all the strange order, it works. If you listen to it often enough, the tunes sink in, rather like an annoying pop song (!) but be warned, look at the booklet whilst listening - some of the pronunciations are a little odd.

To get you through a holiay, this is great - I'd like a tea... a table for two... how much is this... Unfortunately I don't like the background music on a couple of the tracks, and this is reflected in that I can never remember those words! My Greek is never going to be native, but it has certainly improved. (NB, on the strength of this cd, I have also bought the German version vol 1 and the French versions vol 1+2 for a refresher course so it is obviously a style that works for me)

Rating: - Sing-Along-a-Greek
Yeah....very smart idea! Greek words and phrases set to music and repeated over and over again. The music is quite calmimg. The best way to learn from this CD is to play it load in your car and sing along at your very loudest! The words will then sink in. Mind you, the car is probably the only place you can learn greek LOUD.....do this at home or with yout headphones on and you're liable to be taken away by men in white coats!

An easy relaxing way to learn greek. Really very good. Phrases just come back to you after listening a few times. Can`t wait for volume 2 .

I read the other reviews and made the option to try this. I was a little upset that I did not seem to immediately learn Greek on the first listening. It has taken some time to pick up the pronunciation but I think I am there now. I only listen in the car and tend to repeat the "Chapters". The music most certainly helps as does the little book which I decided to look at after a couple of weeks. I am not one for instruction booklets and just stuck the CD on. I thoroughly recommend this and has given me more than enough to get by both speaking and listening. I have only experienced Volume 1, I wait with eager anticipation for volume 2

Rating: - Well pleased
I got this not really expecting it to be any good but i have to admit it is great. The phrases stay in your head and you can rattle away in no time. I consider myself to be somewhat dim but the music helps you pick it up straight away. A bit like when you hear a favourite song on the radio and you just 'know' the words. Be really good for holidays. I love Greece and this is a really useful learning tool for getting by when over there.
