Blue Sonnet is a classic anime sci-fi series, which focuses on the evil in genetic experimentation. It also has a very human feel to it, which makes the characters easy to relate to, and ultimately gives the powerful story even more impact. It is based around an average schoolgirl called Ran, who finds herself in danger when a higher power discovers her supernatural telekenetic powers. It is particularly interesting to see Blue Sonnet, a gouvernment-controlled female cyborg, harnessing feelings for those who she is told to be her enemies. You can feel her pain as she is forced to murder the innocent, including children, for the Gouvernment's selfish plans. This is all laced with engrossing action, which keeps the epic story moving swiftly on. The dub is of a decent quality, and the dialogue is very well crafted. Overall, it is difficult to dislike such an exciting, thought-provoking and well animated series. Highly recommended if you like to dig under the skin of the characters of fast-paced action thriller movies.
