VHS : Night Of The Living Dead - 25th Anniversary Documentary

Rating: - Informative, but rather bland.
For any die-hard NOTLD fan this documentary is an essential purchase, as it offers fascinating insites into the pre-production, production and ditribution areas, told by the bigwigs themselves. The problem with this documentary however is that it is so amateurishly made that it is quite hard to sit through all in one viewing. Throughout the duration of the documentary we are treated to a less than stimultaing view of Romero and his three colleagues sat in a room together reminiscing of old times. Of course, this is what fans of the film will be looking for, but there could have been more variety to the whole thing.

Saying that however, there are attempts to liven things up a bit, intercutting the monotonous room setting with clips of the film, and the documentary also includes interviews with famous horror fans (including Sam Raimi, Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven and John Landis).

A reasonably good documentary, but you should look out for the superbly made DOCUMENT OF THE DEAD, which outlines the creation process of the second, and superior, film.

Rating: - Woo Boy! What a required audience
If you like any, and i mean any, of the living dead movies (Night of the...Dawn of the...Day of the...And the remake of Night. Return of the... does not count, it is a half parody, half spin-off)then you will enjoy this romp which contains interviews with Duane Jones, George Romero, and Tom Savini? Although he wasn't invovled, he did direct the remake and do the effects for the sequals, so he was a fan. Buy it, you crazy diamond, you!
