Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the Best Wrestlemania's.......
Wrestlemania XIV is, along with Wrestlemania X, one of the best Wrestlemania's so far. For me this PPV really elevated the era of WWF Attitude. The event kicked off with a 15 team Battle Royal to crown the the #1 Contenders for the tag titles at the next PPV, Unforgiven. This one is a great opener with lots of action. Some of the teams are, the DOA, LOD, the Rock 'N' Roll Express, the Midnight Express, Too Much and the Godwins. In the best Light Heaveyweight title match I have seen, Augula (Essa Rios) would challenge Taka Michinoukou (the champion.) This one contains lots of high risk moves from and over the top rope. The quaility continues with Owen Hart challenging Triple H for the European title in another solid, entertaining bout. A slight setback would follow with Goldust and Luna taking on Marc Mero and sable in a Mixed Tag Match. Watchable, but not of the standard shown in the earlier matches. The Rock and Ken Shamrock would duel next for the Intercontinental title. This one is quite quick and is watchable, but the ending makes the match. Another title match would follow this with Chainsaw Charlie and Cactus Jack taking on the New Age Outlaws for the Tag titles. This one is match of the night, as it is the first Dumpster Match! Loads of Action and a good finish, make this the best on the card. Then we witness Kane and Undertaker go head to head for the first time. This one is entertaining, but perhaps a little disappointing in some peoples mind. Then the main event, Shawn Michaels defending the WWF title to Stone Cold Steve Austin. An entertaining match with again, like most matches, a good finish, involving enforcer Mike Tyson. This is a MUST for all fans.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Show, Worth Buying
Well, Looking for a decent WWF video which isn't a 15 certificate is quite difficult. But, I found to my suprise, WrestleMania 14 is an 'E'. Despite this, the video is just as violent and crazy and sexy as any other event which reaches a higher watching age. I put it on and watched an insignificant and pointless battle royal, which was a reminder why everybody hates The Royal Rumble match. Way too many people in the ring at once, and the outcome was horribly predictable.

But then we were hit with a flurry of excellent matches, including HHH vs. Owen Hart, Taka vs. Rios, and Rocky vs. Shamrock. The mixed tag match is terrible, with Goldust wrestling just about the worst bout he has ever participated in. Sable looked good though.

The dumpster match was funny and brutal, with major bumps being taken by Jack and Funk, and even Billy Gunn at 1 point.

Kane vs. Undertaker had such a great storyline, and the match lived up to it, with Undertaker going flying through the announce table. Then came....

The MAIN EVENT! BRILLIANT! Tyson at ringside, Austin vs. Shawn in the ring. The outcome was yet again predictable, but hey, a great ending nonetheless! Buy now, not the best, but buy!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Wrestlemania 14-The Attitude Era Starts Here
Wrestlemania 14 has become known as the event that started the "Attitude" era, although I believe that this era had truly begun long before this. Anyway, this does have plenty of "Attitude" and plenty of great matches aswell. The only bad match is the over-crowded tag-team battle royal (the count-down show isn't much fun either, thanks to Sunny and Michael PS Hayes).

The best match is the main event between Stone Cold and HBK. Despite suffering from a back injury that would eventually end his career, Shawn Michaels takes some dangerous bumps and makes it a top-notch match (Guest Ref Mike Tyson also plays a vital role in the match, watch and see). Elsewhere on the card, Undertaker has an excellent big man outing with Kane, and in a suprisingly solid mixed tag match, Marc Mero and Sable take on Goldust and Luna. And who could forget the dumpster mayhem between The Outlaws and Catcus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie?

Overall, it was great show, probably one of the best Wrestlemania events in history. However, a word of warning. It is quite violent and has some profanity, so it's not really family viewing. If it was re-released today I doubt it would get an E!
