Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - What is people's obession with this?
The first half of Goldfinger is excellent, with some very memorable moments, such as the car chase with the first modified Aston Martin Bond received. The beginning scene is pleasing, as are the parts where Bond learns of operation 'Grand Slam'. However, after the part where Bond is nearly lasered by Goldfinger, the film goes from 9 out of 10 to around 5-6, mainly due to the long boring scenes with Bond and Pussy Galore. Connery seems disassociated with the main plot from that point on.

Disappointing especially after having seen the success made in 'From Russia With Love'. Special features are excellent nevertheless.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Film
I am watching all of the bonds in order starting with dr no so far although I think that goldfinger is a good film I think that Dr No and from russia with love have been better films. Sean Connery plays the part of bond as always brilliantly!
I would recommend watching it but it definatley isn't connerys best.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I must be dreaming...
This is a must for any self-respecting Bond fan - the ultimate in the series!

Pussy Galore has to be the best Bond-girl, Gert Frobe is the best villain and Connery, of course, is the best Bond - no contest there!

Be blown away by the power of Shirley Bassey's voice, by the fantastic plot, the wonderful script, great casting and most definitely by 007's sexy smile (especially in that infamous aeroplane scene with Pussy Galore).

This is the Bond film with the best 007 to villain repartee -
Bond: "Do you expect me to talk?"
Goldfinger: "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die!"

Buy it now and you won't ever have to wait for it to come on TV ever again! As soon as you get it delivered, put it in the DVD player, sit back and be sure that you won't be disappointed!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Do you expect a review?
This is THE bond film, it has it all, a great them song, a great villian and of course, Connery.

The famous Aston Martin and the Q scene are just many of this films high points. The laser beam scenes and the fort knox raid add to the excitment of Goldinfger aswell.

The DVD also does the film great Justice, with hours of extras and great things to see and watch. The picture and sound quality are quite frankly superb for such and old film.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I say, Sean Connery for King
When compared to a "serious" spy film, e.g. the BBC adaptations of John le Carre's TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY and SMILEY'S PEOPLE (both starring the late Sir Alec Guiness), the long-running 007 series is pure trash. But even trash can be fun, and GOLDFINGER makes that point, although the script is almost irrelevant in the presence of the incomparable Sean Connery as Bond - James Bond.

Here, Comdr. Bond foils an attempt by Auric Goldfinger to destroy the value of the bullion held in Fort Knox. Gadgets and girls abound. The best of the former is a laser that causes even the redoubtable Commander to wince at the prospect of losing the family jewels. Then there's Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman). How is it that modern-day Bond Babes don't have such, um, promising monikers? And the rock-like Oddjob (Harold Sakata) with his lethal hat is one of the most engaging thugs ever to toss 007 into a heap.

Sean Connery will go down in movie history as the essence of Bond. Next to him, all others pale - even runner-up Pierce Brosnan. Imagine Connery, a Scot, in a tux jacket and kilt. Then picture PB in the same costume. See what I mean? Connery has the voice, physical stature, and rakish glint in his eyes to pull it off. Sean should be acclaimed King in Westminster Abbey.

I'm giving GOLDFINGER 5 stars not because it's a great film, but because it's perhaps the best of several with Connery as Bond, and the one that could well immortalize Sean to human history in that role.
