Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of Disney's Best
A lot of rubbish has been talked about this film by critics, but why they attack it so remains a mystery. This is a beautifully animated (the gorgeous hues of blue and purple in the forest being a standout) and often moving story, with a more serious, 'adult' tone than many other Disney films - although there is also plenty of humour from the animal cast. Infinitely superior to it's more successful predecessor, 'The Lion King', it's not historically accurate but who cares? This doesn't present itself as a documentary; it's entertainment - and on that score, as on all others, it is an unqualified treasure.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sheer brilliance
The film is a beautiful tale with captivating music and art which should shine through with brilliance on the DVD.

the film is a masterpeice, the only reason why the critics did'nt like it was because it was totally different to the lion king. The film is a classic, I can't say any more than this film is excellent. (Also watch Pocahontas 2 journey to a new world.)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Pocahontas is wonderful movie
The movie is about two people. Indian princess Pocahontas and english captain John Smith come from two different worlds and they fall in love. This movie is so beautiful and the songs is so wonderful. A must buy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A beautifully crafted and magical romance/ animation.
This film has some of the most lovable and memorable songs, characters and truely wonderful moments that I have ever wittnessed. One of my favourite Disney films it has everything that you could ever wish in one film. Mel Gibson plays John Smith, the heroic English settler who has his eyes opened to a new way of life by the Indian Princess Pocahontas. Every sort of song enters into this film in some form or another with the main ones of " Just around the Riverbend" and " Colours of the wind" stealing the show. However I would warn some as the plot is based around a real historical character and those who know the true story may not appriciate this animated interpretation. I do however firmly believe that if you watch this film with an open mind and heart you too will learn to "paint with all the colours of the wind!"
