VHS : The Lion King [1994]

Rating: - Problems accessing the Original 1994 Version on Special Edit
In my option this is the Best Film that Disney have made, the DVD quality has just made the film more enjoyable to watch. The extras on Disc 1 & 2 make this a must have for any Disney Buff or any one with young children.

I did had problems accessing the Original 1994 Version on Special Edition DVD, the “play” icon on the main menu just seemed to play the New Version of the Lion King.

I called Buena Vista Home Entertainment, they informed me that you need to do the following;

Wait for the main film menu to appear, then go to set-up Icon, in set-up go to the Languages Icon and lastly in Language menu you will find Original Version, (just under Hebrew).

Rating: - 2 Films? Where
Generally this new Disney dvd is suberb. There are lots of fun activities for all the family to enjoy, but where is the original film on the dvd?
The disney site says there is a catergory called on "PRIDE ROCK" on dvd 1 where you can choose which film you want to watch but speaking to other people this isn't the case!
Apart from this problem it is well worth the money and anyone who likes Disney will love this.

I am a huge lion king fan even since i first saw it, and this dvd does not dissapoint. Although the new song does not sound like the original simba, it can be forgiven by the quality of the rest of the dvd, and the special features

Rating: - The King has Returned to the Circle of Life :)
This Dvd is fantastic,well worth the money and the free bean toy of Simba that comes with it is sooooo cute,I love all the songs from the Lion King especially The Circle of Life,I just cant wait to be King,Can you feel the love tonight.This dvd is a must have for any fan of Disney movies includes Elton John singing the Circle of life and Can You Feel the love tonight and interviews on how it was made and you can sing along to tracks with the words coming up on your tv screen :) I rate this film 10/10

Rating: - Could have been better..
There is no escaping the fact that The Lion King is possibly THE greatest Disney Animated film ever, so like many others i was thrilled when it was released 'Special Edition'. Having bought Beauty and The Beast I was expecting great things. Unfortunately I found that the standard of content did not match that of the Beauty and The Beast. There was very little booklet information, just lots of adverts. Also the games were very uninspiring and tedious. As for the Original Theatrical Release, as there was no information telling you were to find it had to sit and scour the whole of both discs...twice, until i eventually found it...in Languages...i mean of course, how silly of me to not have looked there first.
If i had not found it, i can assure you I would have been taking the film back and demanding a refund...Saving grace i can watch the original because the special edition version isnt a patch on it, the song they re- inserted should have been left on the cutting room floor.
But now ive had my gripe will go off again to watch Simba on his journey and sing along to the much loved songs....with one final comment....Hakuna Matata!
