VHS : The Lion King [1994]

I dont usually give anything 5 stars but I think that the Lion King really deserves it.

The lion king is one of disneys' finest movies, from its breath taking musical opening over the african plains to its great climax the lion king has certainly captured everyones hearts with its upbeat songs and wonderful characters.

This film is fun for the whole family, even the adults who will enjoy Timon and Pumbaa's sense of humour.

Disney are known for creating amazing tales but this one, along with the animation the powerful voices for the characters, and the amazing music makes this a truly breathtaking Disney classic!

I saw this film when it came out in the cinema, and I have watched it so many times since then as I think it should be regarded as one of the best animated films out there.

I was lucky enough to get hold of this version of the DVD and I would totally recommend adding it to your list today! One of the best Disney films out there.

I grew up watching Disney films, and have seen most of the classis, but this for me is the ultimate classic. Its got laughs its tear jerking moments and above all it's a film that has proved the test of time and deserves its classic status. So buy it while you can because you won't be disappointed.

Rating: - The last great old-style animated film?
Made in 1994, The Lion King is arguably the last great old-style animation film before the arrival of more edgy, in your face computer-designed animations such as Shrek and Madagascar. It’s an epic story of love and betrayal in a grand setting of the African plains.

Although The Lion King is mainly based around the central plot there is some side humour, especially from Timon (a meerkat) and Pumbaa (warthog) companions to the main lion Simba during his isolation as a young adult. An immense epic animation, which is well worth seeing.

I was four when i first watched this film and bought the video as soon as it came out. I becames obsessed with it over night and as soon as the film came out on DVD i was once again hooked.
One one great thing about this DVD for avid disney fans are the extra features - packed full with behind the scene video and where the idea for the film actually came from. If your havent seen the film before your must understand that this is the best disney film ever! You laugh, you cry and you worry for the chaacters. One of my great philosophies on life was based on this film - Hakuna Matata. Watch this wonderful film and be amazed by the wonderufl world of disney.
