I am obsessed with this film. I know every word off by heart, every song, even the african chants. I am the biggest fan of this film. So, buy this now, and ebjoy the magic of the Lion King.

Rating: - The classic Disney film
I loved The Lion King when it came out, although I was annoyed I missed it at the cinema.

So imagine the joy when it's released on DVD with DTS sound?! The walls shook, the windows shattered and the wind whirled around my sofa when the stampede scene happened. It was THAT good. Basically everybody buy a DVD projector, get a decent surround sound system and make The Lion King and Lord of the Rings your first purchases!

The extras are decent (for a children's film). Buy buy buy

Oh my god!!!!!!!!!! i LOVE the lion king! i first watched it when i was just turned 4 and my mum took me to see it and the reason i remember this so well is because i was captured by the music and colours and though at that point i was a little too young to understand completely what was going on what i did understand was enjoyable and not boring at all for my age.
Of course at the tender age of 4 the fight scenes between the lions were scary but that didnt stop it being my favourite movie ever for over 11 years!! The beautiful colours, powerful music lovable characters and amazing storyline captured my young heart and has stayed close to me ever since.
So you can imagine how ecstatic i was on it coming out on Special Edition!
However i was disappointed. Although, yes the picture was better than video, the sound was better and so on so forth, the new song is a waste of space and just doesnt fit in with the storyline around it. It should have been left out.
Also alot of people. including myself, had trouble accessing the original. Its in languages. Oh how silly of us i mean how could we not have looked there first!
The games are tedious but the virtual safari is quite good. i prefer the second disk as it has more to do with how they came to the idea of The lion king.
Dont get me wrong! Even though i did not particularly like this version as much as the original it is quite a good DVD to have. Maybe it's because i'm a teenager now that i dont find these games fun. But to me, no matter what films come out, The Lion King will be number one for it has captured my soul and wont let it go.

This animated box-office smash from Walt Disney is one of the best films of all time and will touch everyone of all ages with its pure of heart, laugh-out loud humour and sense of adventure.

Each character's brilliantly animated, full of life-like motions and characterisics, while the vocals (Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, James Earl Jones, Rowan Atkinson and Nathan Lane) are all truly awe-inspiring in their own way. The soundtrack's another thing too, full of toe-tapping and head-nodding numbers like THE CIRCLE OF LIFE, I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING, HAKUNA MATATA and CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT that'll get you singing before the film's even finshed! The faultless direction compells the audience into the story of Simba as he walks through the 'Circle of Life' from childhood to adulthood to his inevitable destiny of being the next King of Pride Rock.

Like I said, this is one of the best animated features Disney can come up with so far with its effortless visuals, enjoyable song numbers, excellent voice-casting and a perfectly-made story.
