Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Quite Probably The Best Nintendo 64 Game Released!
I have owned most consoles released (sega/Sony/nintendo), but the only console that my mates beg me to keep down for late night beer filled gaming sessions is my N64. The main games played are Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64 and Killer instinct Gold but Mario Tennis Is first in the list. In single player mode it is very very entertaining; but in multiplayer this game comes into it's own. Up to 4 players (2 on each team in doubles) The control system is not limited and you can blast or chip the ball exactly where you aim on court. This game is great it sucks you in straight away and dosent let you go.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best sports sims around
This really is a fantastic game, for anyone who enjoys frantic multiplayer fun. Nintendo like to take well known genres and add some of their own magic to it and Mario Tennis is an example of this. The one player, as you'd expect, is not the best way to make use of the game. Ok, so you'll go through it a few times to unlock extras, but you're not going to go back to it too often afterwards. (I spent ages completing it with everyone, then someone erased the data. I really can't be bothered to do it again!)

However, the multiplayer is where it really comes into its own, especially with four players. The most frustrating part is when you get paired with someone rubbish, and you need to do double the work to keep in the match. It's still a laugh though.

The characters are as expected, and they of course have their strenghts and weaknesses. My favourites are Waluigi, because his racket is so huge, he's great at the net; bowser because he's so damn powerful, even though he's the slowest; and boo, because his serves have so much swerve on them that your average opponent has less than 50% chance of returning them (although the computer players can do it fine, which is annoying).

Overall, a classic Nintendo game definitely worth buying if you can find it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Mario Tennis - good not great
I picked up mario tennis cos it had recieved many good reviews. The first thing u'll notice about this game is that it's very colourful and cute but don't let that put u off! This game is very playable but i did find it a bit too cute! (if ur over 15 u won't really like the look of this). Mario tennis has many play options including a ring shot, bowser court with mario kart type power ups and the usual singles + doubles matches! If u like cuteness get this game (it is good if u look beyond that) but if u have a dreamcast get virtua tennis! thanx 4 ur time!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great game
Mario Tennis is one of the best multiplayer games ever to be released. You can have hours of fun with yer mates. The single player mode however is a different story. There just arn't enough things to do, after youve beaten all the cups including the advanced ones, there's not much left. Great game, except not for loners.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Mario Tennis - Fast and Furious action in your living room.
A Tennis game on your console? I could not imagine a tennis game could keep me entertained for very long. I remember Match Point on the ZX Spectrum. Very difficult to play, difficult to even return the ball at the start.

You can play Mario Tennis straight from the box. You can have decent rallies by just returning the ball (moving towards it and pressing A). Then you can add direction to the return. Very simply you can move on to power hitting and smashing. Top Spin and Slice all very easy to master.

The animation with the replays is very amusing but easily by-passed if you want to press on with the match.

My girlfriend loved it immediately and she hates computer games!

This game is a winner for all ages.
