Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Something Magical
I first saw this Bollywood film on t.v late at night. I'm not indian but this story was outstanding. The songs are very sweet with the story. The story itself is clever for the viewer. The little girl get's a letter from her dead mum every year only, this letter tell's the story about how the little girl's mother first met her father and his best friend (a tomboy). This is told in flash back until it goes back to the present. I love watching this film. It has everything in this movie. It has dancing, singing, breaking up and most importantly it has a love story in three ways. The cast are fantastic in this comedy drama. You will not be disappointed by this fab film. Go and buy this today it's that good.

Dear Readers & Ms Neelam,
My review consists of ideas and thoughts I acquired when I watched the movie. The movie itself is very 'charming' and delicate. The characters portrayed an atmosphere of love and kindness, the roles of the actors and actresses was complimentary, although I feel more humour should have been directed as it is a family film. Tailored to the film were young and old, and both were witty and enjoyable to watch. The film is very entertaining and a love story to watch, and a proper family film.

This was my very first Bollywood movie and it is a great movie. It is bothfunny and sad, it will make you laugh and it will make you cry. For me, itbrings back so many memories of Secondary School, all those six years ago.It is a film that can be seen by the whole family, like most Hindi movies. There are no scenes where you need to cover your childs' eyes or anythinglike that. It is clean and pure, as love is. It is simply a must see filmand if you are a Bollywood fan, this must be added to your collection.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!
Truly an outstanding film. I own the DVD and never get tired of watching it yet another time. The story is yet another Bollywood love triangle, but with some new flavor to it.
The story starts out with Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) standing by the funeral fire of his wife, Tina (Rani Mukherji) who died during childbirth. He is remebering the days before she died and this is shown to the viewer in the form of a short flashback. In the flashback you see that Tina leaves 8 letters for her daughter, Anajli (Jr).
The story then skips to present day and Anjali Jr. is all grown up. On her birthday she recieves the 8th and final letter from her mother. In this letter, Tina tells Anajli Jr. of Tina's and Rahul's college days. This is also shown as a flashback.
In the flashback...
Rahul and Anjali (Sr.) are best friends. Rahul is your typical girl-crazy guy and Anjali is a pure tomboy. The're best friends and do eveything together, but then Tina arrives at the college and Rahul falls hard for her. Anjali too realizes that she has feelings for Rahul that are more than just friendship, but Rahul tells her that he's in love with Tina. Heartbroken, Anjali leaves college so she doesn't have to face Rahul and the pain of loosing her lover.
We return once again to present day. In the letter Tina asks Anjali Jr. to reunite Anjali and her first love (Rahul). Anjali Jr. enlists the help of her grandmother and together they devise a plan to get the two lovers back together. Their plan lands them at a summer camp where Anjali Sr. works and they trick Rahul into showing up there too. Through some hlarious and touching scenes Rahul realizes his deep love for Anjali Sr. and wants to confess it to her, but finds out that she's engaged to Aman. Dejected, he accepts fate.
Finally it is Anjali Sr.'s wedding day and while she is getting ready in her bedroom, Rahul comes upstairs and confesses his true feelings to her.
The end is pretty predictable, actually the whole story is pretty predictable, but it's still an enjoyment to watch. The only thing that was sort of a let down was that the way the story portrayed it, it seemed as if Anjali was ok with Rahul having her and dropping her whenever it was most conveinent for him. You'd think a person would atleast be a little hurt and angry that her lover is treating her like this. Besides that there are only a few goof ups and the fact that ShahRukh (Rahul) looks a little too old to be a college student, but other than that this movie is fantastic. Rani's(Tina)acting was exceptional for a newcomer and ShahRukh (Rahul) just made you want to go awww. But Kajol (Anajali) was the real highlight of the film. Her acting seemed so real and natural and it was beyond excellent! Not to mention that she looked absolutely gorgeous. The chemistry between Bollywood's fav couple (Shahrukh and Kajol) did not let audiences down and together they made love seem beautiful! Kuch Kuch Hota is a heartwarming, must-see film that will make you laugh, cry, and pull at the heartstrings. Seeing it will make you anticipate the day when you too will say 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (Something's happening in my heart)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Gorgeous
I defy anyone to do anything but totally fall in love with this movie. Within the first few minutes I was crying then laughing and that pretty much sums up the whole film. It is impossible to watch the movie without feeling the love it exudes. As my first Hindi film it totally opened a whole new genre to me and I have not looked back since.

The simple story of the strength of 'first love' after years of seperation is embellished with song, dance and humour to make it the spectacular feel-good movie that it is. The two lead characters play with such a passion and an innocence that you cannot fail to fall for their charms. And as for the little girl - she breathes even more life into a film that is already shouting 'I'M ALIVE'. Yes, you have to expect cheese, multiple 'funky' costume changes and the most catchy theme tune on the planet but it will leave you feeling so good that you'll keep watching it over and over again. I cannot recommend this highly enough!!
