VHS : Kuch Kuch Hota Hai [1998]

Fantastic. An Inidan film without the 'old' fashioned flimsy set feel. Great actors and good story. The only thing that spoilt it for me was the unbelieveable number of costume changes - with obvious designer label clothing being used! Felt more like an advert for CK in the dancing scenes. Still it wouldn't be an indian film without it! Non hindi speakers, don't be put off. Story and acting sooooo godd you know from their actions/emotions what's going on!

Rating: - An excellent film for ALL ages
A well contrasted, college love story with plentiful glamour, which brings tears to your eyes, because of the brilliant acting. Shahrukh Khan does it again! The way the story is told....past and present. Funny, sad and serious! Not like any other Indian film. Every song in the film highly recognised. You can watch the film over and over again and I promise you will laugh and never get borred. Well worth the money paid for it. 'kuch kuch hota hai' means 'when something happens' - after this film when people asked lovers how they felt, LOVERS would reply 'kuch kuch hota hai.'

This film went through all the emotions i could possibly feel. It made me laugh, cry, joyous, excited and it still kept me in suspense. The music definitely adds to the fun of this film. Kajol and Sharukh were great not to mention the interesting performance from Rani,but, what can I say Salman stole my heart once again with his charm and goodness. You have to see this movie to understand its power!!!!

An absolutely magnificent production: the film portrays what most people experience in life, viz, pain and sorrow, loss, love, joy, and friendship. There are humorous elements as well as deeply poignant ones. Subtitles in English provide adequate translation for us non-Hindi speakers.
