Video Games : MechWarrior 4: Vengeance

Rating: - From a long time mech pilot
I've played MW4 mercenaries and it was good, but I wanted more and I got it! Just better and generally more stuff. I've played this game from the start with the RPG and always love the idea and the games have kept up with my expectations. I understand why people say its getting to simplified especially when compared to MW3 but when I got into it I found the whole "type of weapon in one slot" idea really good and it means that you can either go really deep into planning your Mech or just kit it out with as many large lasers as possible!!! (Always fun)

sorry to go on but you shouldn't miss this game. And at the price you can't say no! oh, and to get the best check the specs. Some of them are pretty high at the moment.

P.s. If your buying it, then take a look at Half-life if you haven't already because it the BEST GAME EVER!!!! I could go on but I won't.

Rating: - What a Dissapointment
The latest game in the series takes a step back from it predessor. With a somewhat simplistic weapon placement system more akin to a console game and a limited option on 'electronics' all Mechs feel much the same as each other. Whether a Cougar or a Daishi, Shadow Cat or Atlas it never quite feels like your trying to steer upto a 100 tons of metal as MW3 did. The lack of arm movement makes it doubly difficult to aim at high speed turns.
However, with a superior Lancemate menu and a wide range of Mech's to choose from and a resonable story line it's not all bad. An average and unispired game, it does nothing to drive the sieries forward.

Rating: - Join The Power Of The Elite Army
If you have played on the recent Mechwarrior games then you will be facinated with the amazing graphics in the landscape and weapons.
You can pilot new 'Mechs Such as a 'Sunder' ,and if you have played on 'Mech 3, you will know what i'm on about.
You can follow the story of the Dukes son on his mission to get revenge on the 'Steiner' 'mech clan who killed his family.
You pilot these awesome 'mechs and progress through them from small light weight 'mechs to the almighty assault mechs. As you progress through the missions and the different planets, the missions get harder and more frustrating. Salvage 'mechs and fit them with new configurations of weapons.
I recommend a joystick if you don't already have one.
This is what i think of Mechwarrior 4: VENGENCE and i recommend that you get it.

Rating: - GOOD OLD BULLET FLYING AND MISSILE LAUNCHING FUN
Ifs you want to feel like your a god of a battle field here the experence you need with eonough weapons and landscapes to do it with. oh yeah and the story lines pretty good as well.

Rating: - GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!
This game is absoulutely great! It beats MW1,2 and 3. The graphics are superb and there some very great Mechs armed with powerful weapons, and when their armour finally have been punched through, they blow up like dynamites! The storyline is not at all flat. So I advise you to use your money to buy it.


P.S. If you're gonna buy it, and do not have a joystick, do not buy a joystick! It's much easier to play on the keyboard.
