I have just bought an ipod nano 4gb(black) . One thing that does not fail to surprise me is how fantastic it looks. It certainly does feel stern enought to hold aswell, and i do not have any fears for my ipod "snapping".
Installing time took a while, and itunes also took a while to figure out how to transfer my music to my ipod nano. The instruction manual wasnt very helpful, and just gave very basic information.
My battery at the moment is rubbish, but i think that is because i havnt charged it fully, but i have found myself on the ipod website a lot looking for solutions for my problems. I wasnt expecting a smooth journey with this little baby, but expect a few gliches.
But the colour display and sound is great and pictures on my ipod are great too! but my ipod journey has been a little disappointing so far...

Rating: - Scratched to b*****y
Ordered the nano on the first day it was on apple's web site, waited a ridiculous amount of time for it to be delivered, but was delighted when it finally arrived - it was so cool. Put it in pocket, went out, came back, took it out of pocket and lo and behold it had gone through some strange transformation - it was no longer shiny and cool, but scratched to blazes and extremely naff! The new ones now come with a felt sleeve to protect it's fragile exterior, which to me means that Apple are admitting that they scratch too easily and as they are now admitting it they should replace/reimburse those of us who were unlucky enough to be apple's guinea pigs! My Nokia phone is constantly in my pocket with my keys and money, but no scratches, if they can do it, Apple, why can't you?

Rating: - Don't Put the Nano Down...
The iPod Nano was the first ever mp3 player I have purchased from Apple, and rumours were circulating of the battery life and being easily scratched...not true. The nano's design is so sleek and fashionable so theres a worry of scratches...if thats the case, buy the cover for it! Ive had it for over a month and ive found no flaws and certainly no scratches and thats by treating it like any other mp3 player.
I recommend it to anyone, I also recommend the 4GB.

Rating: - One Major Flaw
So much about the Nano is excellent: storage capacity, sound quality, layout, ease of use etc. However, as is well documented, the quality of the surface is unbelieveably poor. Despite taking great care within hours it was covered in scratches. Even soft clothing and glass cleaning cloths will leave marks! The protective covers you can buy actually scratch the Nano when putting them on or taking them off. I would recommend waiting until Apple address this matter before purchasing one.
