Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Out of this world!
There's something about this game. Something I can't describe. I mean, I knew it would be good, as is practically every Mario game, but nothing could prepare me for simply HOW good.
After the slightly disappointing Mario Sunshine, to call this a return to form is wrong, as that suggests it equals what came before. It doesn't; it goes far beyond it, WAY beyond, out into the stars...literally.
The game is soaking with ideas (and not all of them are to do with the Wii remote), with each level throwing genius at you on every single planet. But SMG never rests on it's laurels; the game almost never repeats itself, and with more worlds to explore than ever before, this alone is an astonishing feat.
And the music! Honestly, this is the first game that I genuinely feel deserves a separate soundtrack release - big, sweeping orchestras that would even overpower John Williams at his Star Wars-esque best.
And I haven't even mentioned the play. I simply cannot put it into words...there's some kind of intangible magic captured in the game that captures you completely and will make you happily play for hours on end.

Not since Orcarina of Time have I been so inspired by a game, a game that you think about long after you've managed to tear youself away from it. If Nintendo's policy has been to widen the market and entice more people into gaming, then they simply cannot fail with games like this in your arsenal. It will not matter if you don't like games, or even if you can't play them. If you just want a joyous experience, this is it. Out of this world.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Trust me buy this and "bee" mario!
The pictures for this game doesn't do it justice, this is not a "babyish" game, in fact far from it. This game should be a 7+ because it is hard and long; and that is why it is great, the attention-to-detail is great from nintendo once again. I hate it when games are short they are a wast of money, now this game isn't cheap, but as it is long it is worth it.

It has a simply complete missions to unlock missions game but it is very flexible as you choose which missions to do Depending on the number of stars you have but anyway I don't want to ruin the game for you. The game is new, and different yet is has mario written all over it, its so well made.

The camera views are O.K most of the time but you can get bad ones (without mario in them!) however this rarely occurs. the other "nag" is that they call it 2 player just to make some more sales, it is awful and not really worth doing as it is 1 player does it all while the second player points and collects a star, every 5 minutes!

But after all that Dont knock it till you've tried this game because although not perfect it is only mm's away so buy it!

This game is so addictive. It brings me back to the enjoyment I felt ten years ago playing the old mario games on the snes!! The gameplay is top notch and the graphics are literally super! Anyone who has a Wii must get this game! Not only is it tyhe best game on the Wii (beating off Resident Evil/Zelda/Mario&Sonic) but its the best game of 2007 across all the consoles! You won't regret it! Go out and buy it today and see what all the fuss is about!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best 3D Platformer On Any Console
Back in the day platforming games(along with fighters)were my faveriout genre, but since thge N64 when games turned 3d i have hated more or less all platformers but Mario galaxy is the first one i like. So what is so different about Mario Galaxy?

Mario Galaxy has alot of variety, The levels are no longer huge they are cut down to many smaller levels where the objective is to simply get from the start to the finish, most the levels consist of 4-5 small planets in a row that take a mineut or two each to compleate so each level lasts around 5 mins much like platformers from the snes days where you scroll from the left of the screen to the right, oviously each planet has obsticals to jump over, balance on and requires you to time your jumps correctly and of course gombers and the like to jump on.When you start it takes a few mins to get used to running around upside down on the underside of plannets aswell as how to use the gravety of different plannets but before long the controlls are very simple.

Like i saied before Galaxy has alot of variety there are alot of levels and parts of levels where you get a side on view of the action so the game playes like a traditinal 2d platformer(new super mario bros for example)throw in different gravities and the power of the Wii it makes some of the best side on platforming i have ever played one of the bowser boss levels that had the 2d gameplay was defently the best platforming levels ever.

Although i said each level is bascly get from the start to the finish some stars(you collect these after each sucessfull mission) give you different objectives such as collect hidden coins, race against some one, or finish a level with in a tight time limit this gives the game a nice variety.

The hub world is made up of about 7 observtories that are unlocked as you collect more stars in each observtorie you can see about 5 different locations that you can go to (ghost house, molten planets, ice plannets etc)and each of these areas had between 3-5 different stars to collect so the game gives you quite a bit to do. there are also hidden Galaxys to find and hidden stars so the game should keep you going for a while.

The graphics are great for the Wii there is not a better looking game on the system it is ovious nintendo put alot of time and effort polishing all aspects of this game as the sound also is great all the songs are performed by a orchestra.

If you own a Wii and havent yet picked up Mario Galaxy it should be top of your list of games to buy i doubt there will be a better platforming game for atleast 5 years when nintendo make a new mario for there next machine, Even then they set the bar pretty high with this version.
