 - Superb Performance by Respectful & Talented ArtistThoroughly enjoyed listening to the music of newcomer, James Morrison whose voice, guitar and penned songs carry the soul,rhythm and blues styles of many great singers who made their mark in the music industry. James Morrison captures those sounds in a complimentary way and, respectfully, adapts those influences into his own beautiful songs. The greatest compliment a talented singer could give to veteran soul and blues musicians is to weave some of their styles into his own and James does that respectfully very well. Kudos for him! Enjoy. Rating: - What a great debut album!This boy sounds like a cross between Maroon 5 & Terence Trent-Darby. I put this on in the car for the first time and was surprised to be singing along from the off. There isn't a bad track on this album but the first 3 are absolutely fab. I would reccomend this album to anyone (although my fella says 'it is a girl's cd') Rating: - Best album ive heard since james bluntFace it people this is just an amazing album! Almost every song has the strength of you give me something which has already been released. I bought this album purely on the strength of that song (which i rarely do) and i certainly was not disappointed. GO AND BUY THIS ALBUM IF IT THE LAST THING YOU DO!!! Rating:  - Disappointingly weak debutJames Morrison- yet another singer/songwriter with bad hair and similarities to another singer/songwriter called James. I read an interview with this guy, and I felt sympathetic for him, reading how much rubbish he had to go through just to get a record deal. But listening to the album, I was seriously disappointed. The voice gets a bit grating after a while, and the songs just sound too consistent in style to be good and/or different. In short, I'm happy the guy is doing well, but I just wish the music could be of a higher standard. Rating: - One Star More Than James BluntI would have given this one star which would equal James Blunt. While a competent singer (better than Blunt by far) the range isn't there and most of the songs are over produced and in the same key. Don't believe the over-marketed hype, go and buy some Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke or in fact any Motown or Atlantic singer and give this a miss. | |
