Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - hmm... its okay but not okay
i have one of these, and like several of the other ppl here, i have had the same problems with image quility, its usless in low light, the auto focus has major problems in low light settings (you have to take 3-4 pics to make sure) even with the AF assist light on. but you do get great well lit outdoor images from it. the videos are very nice and in focus, shame about normal pics, good sound qulity but the video feature is a one button press, and i have found myself pressing it alot by accident if i hold it in one hand, very annoying but i thankfully have a 8gb sd card.

the outside of the camera, its looks and features are LOVELY, shame realy that its not just around for its design aspects.

i have a old cannon ixus 500 that has only 5MP that take images far far better than this. as i have decided to buy a new memory card for that and use it again.

i realy loved the look of this camera, shame thats all there is good about it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing little camera
Just had to add to your comments. I have had this camera for 12 months and it never ceases to amaze me. One of your users earlier comments is totally incorrect about needing a memory stick to store photos (they must be talking about another camera) I got over 200 photos and videos stored on mine. This little camera is such an asset, takes great photos, has large screen, it's tiny - in fact I keep it in a cloth glasses case and I get photo's and video's that others miss because I always have my camera in my handbag (it so dinky) it zooms in for taking the photo and even more on viewing and the video option is great - I sat just the other day videoing my little grandaughter as she pottered around talking gobbledy guck to herself and she never onced noticed I was videoing her because this little camera is so oblivious. It doesn't make any sound like video camera's I have used in the past and your not hidden by the machine, I got some amazing footage that she will love when she's older. The reason I was looking at it on Amazon again is that I am thinking of buying one for a very close friend who is about to have her first baby, so that proves how much I just love it. If you can afford it, buy it, I promise you you wont be disappointed.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Camera

Firstly, if you are the type of point and shoot person, this is the camera for you. It's slim, very good battery life and excellent to just take a quick snap photo.
What's more, the SD card is compatible with most of today's laptops and so one can easily transfer photos across.

Overall, excellent camera and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Very dissapointing compared to previous models
I have owned over the last five years several cameras from the Exilim S range, and the picture quality on this one is well below the previous models (EX-S600 for instance), and probably one of the worst I have seen recently on a digital camera (even cameras much cheaper).

The camera has lots of nice features, and a very impressive screen. However, I found that the menu "wheel" was just too close to the screen. Pressing some of the buttons is difficult.

But the biggest issue is that the picture quality is just poor: a lot of blurring/soft edges, sometimes for more than half of the picture, and even outdoor. I tried many settings, and could not resolve the issue. All pictures lack details, particularly on the edges (which can become quite large).

I took thousands of pictures with my previous EX-S600, and never had such issues: pictures were just sharp, with details.

Since Video quality is quite good, and the lense appear to be the same as previous Casio cameras, it would appear that the new Exilim image processor (version 2) is at fault here.

Casio really needs to focus on the picture quality, rather than new features, because that's what eventually matters for a digital camera.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Never even got to take a single picture...
Bought one of these as a Christmas present from a well known national retailer. Thought it would be a good idea to charge it up and fit the memory card (not included!!!) so it would be ready on the morning, but it would not charge, just got a flashing red led. Shop exchanged it without problem, but the replacement did exactly the same thing! (and yes, it was all connected/fitted properly. It's actually pretty impossible to get it wrong).

Took it back and swapped it for an Olympus instead....
