Rating: - All in all pretty good
Very easy to set-up and use. Has improved reception compared to my old freeview box (I now get channels that were unwatchable before). It loses a star on two things - it has frozen up a couple of times (although unplugging it was all that was needed); and I can't work out how to make it display a "letterbox" view, which my old one did.

I am afraid my tale is the same as others picture freezes switching itself on and then you cannot switch it off again, tried resetting now 3 months in nothing just a light blue screen,Daewoo do not seem to send any software updates to fix these bugs this will be going back

Rating: - Who needs Sky plus ?!?
This is a top drawer piece of kit. This is my first pvr and i couldn't have wished for a better start!
Good points:
- Easy to use, almost idiot proof!
- Remote control works well with a good layout.
- Detailed 7 day EPG
- Massive 160GB hard drive, twice as big as you get with Sky Plus.
- Twin tuner is so handy, don't buy a pvr without it. (allows you to record 2 different channels at the same time, or record 1 and watch 1).

Bad points:
- None so far, although I've not had it long.
- Box is a little chunky compared to standard freeview boxes, although still much smaller than your average vhs tape deck.

I am so happy that i decided to pay that little bit more and get a pvr with a 160gb hd and twin tuners, its well worth it. Highly recomended. Buy it.

Rating: - I like it
This is the first freeview recorder i've had and given it is still relatively new technology i'm quite happy with it. It does have some of the faults that others have noted - ie freezing up so you have to switch it off at the wall to reset it. Hopefully Daewoo will be able to iron this out in future. The huge memory and recording two channels at once are great features. The picture and sound quality are fine. I agree the remote is a bit fiddely but i've got used to it. Maybe i'm easily pleased but i think this is good value for money.

Rating: - A great product to enjoy freeview with
I purchased one of these boxes in October and I've really enjoyed using it. Not only is the box made in my homeland Northern Ireland, it has opened up a completely new viewing experience and appreciation for TV. I own another PVR, the Top Up TV Thompson box which compared to the Daewoo cannot compete.

The Daewoo box when in standby is silent and remains so until it records, with a slight hum, it's not loud or annoying like the Thompson box. Its also is useful as a clock as when on standby shows the time.

The library is very well organised, allowing you to archive recordings, jump in to a recording at a specified time etc. The EPG gives you a 7 day viewing schedule, however the best feature, and one I must tell you about as Daewoo has failed to market with the product is the recording guide.

This feature is found by pressing menu, followed by recordings and then guide search. The screen displays the search criteria from start date to end date, channel types ie TV or radio and genre. So for example I can go to this screen and enter the dates I want to search from, select movies from the genre drop down box and press search and all the movies on every channel for the next week are displayed! This saves so much time searching through an EPG and no other PVR seems to have this feature and it's something that every current and potential owner of this box should know because it's fantastic for planning your recordings.

In all a good wee box for your money, letting you enjoy good TV when you choose.
