The thing to remember about the Wii is that it is not an HD console, you can change the format but it is not 1080p like the xbox 360 etc and so you don't get amazing picture quality.

Having said that, with it being component RGB you do get a slightly higher and crisper image with better colour detail, although on Excite Truck for example, the background looks much clearer but the truck itself has poor edging, not sure what this is, but seems that there are not enough lines making up the picture of the truck so it looks slightly fuzzy.

Menu screens seem clearer and fresher than just using the standard scart cable. There seems a few on Amazon and I picked the middle priced cable thinking that there can't be that much difference in quality.

Rating: - This cable is more than I actually expected...
It has 6 RCA connectors and 2 operative modalities, acting both as HD component cable and as a standard composite video cable.

Mode 1: 3 components (luminance, blue and red crominance) + audio stereo, usefult with new HD television sets or projectors

Mode 1: composite video + audio stereo, useful for standard resolution TVs (same functionality as the original nintendo cable shipped with the console)

It is possible to switch between the 2 connection schemes through a button on the cable. This cable is very handy if you have both an old TV and a projector!
